As halftime show watcher:
Kendrick Lamar gave a good performance, but audio mixing was a little off. So far, Samuel L Jackson as Uncle Sam Heckler was honestly great and memorable bits of the show. SZA was pretty good, I wished it was a little bit more dramatic. Kendrick Lamar rapping his verse with the backup dancers as a conversation were fun little touches. Also, my favorite highlight is that the whole stadium singing "A Minor" at the end of Not like us. Drake was already decimated over the summer, and this is akin to pissing someone grave.
Some food for thought, he started the Halftime with this, "The revolution ‘bout to be televised, you picked the right time but the wrong guy.’"
The lines is pretty obvious of its political message, but I wonder how people will pick this up tomorrow.
I agree the mixing was a little rough. Some odd skips and transitions. The Samuel Jackson character and riffs were excellent. I hope people are real pissy about the political undertones. And the...

Coming up at the end of the first half:
Philly defense has been absurd. They figured something out coming into this game and are exploiting it to the max. The offense is alright, they're doing their job and holding onto the ball and not making mistakes. The Philly D is the star of the show so far.
We will see if KC can get over themselves and adjust to whatever is happening, but if nothing changes this is going to be an absolute blowout by the end of Q3.
I placed 50 bucks on KC to win the Superbowl a few months ago as an emotional hedge. Not a Philly fan by any stretch, so this was one of three times in the Mahomes era where I would've been ok...
I placed 50 bucks on KC to win the Superbowl a few months ago as an emotional hedge. Not a Philly fan by any stretch, so this was one of three times in the Mahomes era where I would've been ok with a KC win. The other two: 2019 AFCCG and Superbowl LV - both of which I was actively rooting for KC. These motherfuckers.
But in all honestly, watching them get dominated was worth the 50 bucks. I think I might spite bet them every year moving forward.
I had a few hundred riding on the chiefs from bonus/promo offers, though I hedged and had a few parlays which scored and got me around $100 up, so I'm real happy with the outcomes.

The big question now: Who gets MVP for the Eagles? Everyone has shown up incredibly well. No one player has really shown out, which means it's probably now a popularity contest and likely going to Hurts even though he's just been good enough not to screw up. I want it to go to the defense, probably Cooper but I'll settle for Barkley, if not only because I want to see the reactions of Giants fans.
I would LOVE to see a defensive MVP. It is not going to happen when the score line is something like 37-6. That's just the reality of the world. But the D does deserve that award. Mahomes magic...

Mahomes magic has been, for the most part, sacked.

KC is now finally moving the ball, but I think it's because Philly is transitioning to prevent to burn as much clock as possible. I don't think we will maintain the shutout, but this game feels over. [EDIT: They just scored as I typed this]
In other news, the Cheifs subreddit has been taken private. The haterade is strong and I don't blame the mods. It's going to be a long off-season for the Chiefs if this holds.
My partner said "Which would be funnier, the Chiefs get steam rolled, like, 7 to 40 or Philly wins with a last second touchdown?" at some point in the first quarter. I said " The Philly touchdown...

I said " The Philly touchdown might be more entertaining but them getting stomped would objectively be funnier."
Needless to say, I had a few laughs tonight.
I had homemade chicken soup, what did everyone else have to eat?

Well I think after that disaster we can put away the Patrick Mahomes GOAT discussion. Brady beat him in the championship game as a Patriot, beat him in the Superbowl as a Buccaneer, and now beat him from the broadcast booth in the Superbowl. Clearly Brady haunts this man.
I will be interested in seeing more analysis. It didn't feel like the Bucs - Chiefs Superbowl where Mahomes was being swarmed every play and his guys were completely wrapped up. Maybe that was actually easier for him in a way. Instead, he seemed to not know where to go and be completely overwhelmed trying to process the field. Probably that speaks to the Eagles guys just be great at every position, which is its own kind of chaos.
Ehh gonna sorta disagree here. The man still isn't even 30, has never finished worst than losing the AFC Championship Game in overtime in his 7 years as a starter, and Brady played until he was 45...

Ehh gonna sorta disagree here. The man still isn't even 30, has never finished worst than losing the AFC Championship Game in overtime in his 7 years as a starter, and Brady played until he was 45 and had a 10 year drought of not winning a Super Bowl. Mahomes is clearly not the GOAT yet, but saying he never will be is also jumping the gun.
Their h2h postseason record is fun bragging rights for Brady, but I don't think that means anything more than Eli being 2-0 against Brady in the playoffs. If Mahomes ends up with more rings than Brady (I don't think that's likely, but you never know) then he absolutely will have an argument for being the greatest ever.

I'm interested in this too. I'm bad at analysis, but it seemed like the eagles were containing Mahomes so he couldn't swing out wide to extend plays, and the Chiefs line were getting bullied up front. And the opportunities Mahomes did have he either straight up missed or his receivers dropped it. Just a mess for the Chiefs all around, I think they were outplayed at just about every position. Reid didn't seem to make many adjustments to the gameplan either, which I've seen him criticized for in the past.
Sorry if it wasn’t clear, but I meant that first part in jest. I think the stat I saw was that Mahomes is 0 - 3 in Brady involved playoff games, and 17 - 1 otherwise, which is pretty funny....

Mahomes is amazing, if someone said he’s already the best QB ever it’d hard to argue against given what he does in the field!

Yeah the Revolution comment seemed like it could be a subtle diss at Trump.

Vibes in Philly are palpable and we are hype.

Can't tune in this year but I'm rooting for the Eagles, as I suspect much of the country outside of Missouri is!

Eagles win!
Any folks in Philly or the Delaware Valley here? Has the traditional rioting started yet?
