Been off for a month...what did I miss?
I've gone through more tough shit over the last month. What juicy drama and or changes did I miss?

The vote button is apparently colored instead of using a dotted border now... 0~o
Other then that, there was the open sourcing of the code, and I forgot when comment tags were removed, if that was over a month ago... But not too much has changed, and there wasn't any drama in the last month (unless that one dude got banned after the month, but it feels like he was before). The drama on this site is as flashy as the design aesthetic :P
I noticed it as well. I remember asking for something like this a few weeks ago (make the "voted" and "not voted" states more visually distinctive), so it's nice to see it happen. :)
I thought that was my phone acting up.
Comment tags were removed? I thought that was what would set Tildes apart from Reddit--we could filter out 'joke,' 'low effort,' 'unsourced,' etc. comments to get to the 'meat' of discussion while letting other people joke around about politics or whatever if they wanted to. That's what attracted me to Tildes in the first place. Disappointing to hear.
People abused the tags (especially the "noise" one) and used them to "downvote" comments they didn't agree with. Someone even went through history of someone and tagged as noise all his comments because he argued with him.
Deimos temporarily disabled them until better way to implement them will be found.
That sounds like something that should get you banned, or at least have your tagging privileges revoked. Maybe if the trust system happens tags can be restricted to that group.
It did (for the most egregious case, at least).
AFAIK that is essentially the plan, although tagging is a good entry-path for newish users to earn and lose trust so I doubt they will ever be entirely locked behind a certain trust threshold... perhaps just the more easily abusable ones.
Aw that's a bummer, I was exited to try them out. On another note I thought noise was just a Jake-Peralta-Way of saying nice.
Cool--thanks for letting me know. I'm new here and haven't had a chance yet to explore the roadmap, official posts, etc.
They'll be back. It's a core mechanic, just needs some work to improve some of the aspects that weren't working well.
Excellent--that's great to hear. I'm afraid that you might need to allow kind of obnoxious comments (people making jokes about important political topics, etc.) to become popular, but it'll be nice to be able to filter that out. Soptik mentioned that the feature was abused in the past, and I'm surprised to hear that one person would be able to tag another person's comment. It seems like there should be a threshold of votes necessary to solidify the tag on a comment. Thinking about this, I wondered if there should be solid tags and "fuzzy" tags--tags that people have agreed with and then tags that people have merely suggested but that require more votes. This is probably something you or someone else has already thought of, but I figured I'd throw that idea out there.
Sorry if all of this is redundant--I'm pretty new here and haven't had a chance, yet, to go through your roadmap/official comments/etc. It's exciting, though, to be here as this website is starting, as I hope it will end up replacing Reddit as the best place for content/discussion!
Also everybody received 5 invite codes
It would actually be a nice feature to be able to see a “top posts per month”/week/day for quickly catching up.
Not the same. That’s relative to today. I’m talking an archive per-month/week/day.
Nice website keep going on, it's great to have Tildes log. And btw, I don't think the tables are responsive enough :-)
