How's it going?
I feel like I don't ask enough people that question.
In the replies to this post, just put down whatever's on your mind. We can have a convo or I can just look at some words and think "Wow, so this is the life of another guy?"

I'm super stoked about it. Thunderstorms are one of my top favorite things to experience, and this one is shaking my building a bit. It's looking like my location will escape the worst of the storm, but my power flickered and that's never happened to me before in this building through any of the previous storms that have rolled through. The lightning is some real Wrath of Zeus shit. One of the flashes hurt my eyes it was so close and so bright. I love it.
I turned off my lights, lit some candles, and started burning some incense. I'm gonna enjoy the hell out of this while I can.

Hi! I'm enjoying my cozy morning here. Thinking about how cozy Tildes is too, it's now a little community which feels like "making the internet great again". It's nice to open Tildes on a phone and to see various topics on a well done little website. Even feels inspiring sometimes.

Also just watched the latest Better Call Saul episode. This season is slow paced and chill.

    And how are you doing?

I'm waiting for the whole season to come out so I can binge. My brain isn't built for the oldschool one episode a week schedule. By then I've forgotten everything that happened in the previous episode. I'm really looking forward to it (after rewatch-binging the first three seasons (because I'd forgotten everything that happened in them))!

I'm very glad I binged all the Breaking Bad, that was the show of huge cliffhangers and dense plot prone to forgetting.

If you're at all into Xcom style games, I can heartily recommend Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. The second best game I've played this year.

Watching Gintama. Show is somewhere between hilarious and depressing, and too often crosses into something that feels a little too much like real life.

I'm watching because I'm semi-paralysed today, so all I can do is lie in bed, write on websites like Tildes, and watch TV. It hurts.

That and contending with family, telling me that I should just get up and do stuff, because that'll help! ... It doesn't help, it makes things worse. If I push, I damage myself. It's that simple, and it's the expert advice.

I wish my brain was working a bit better, so I could work on my retro-computer I'm designing some more. Especially after reading this article. I've got a 2x15 matrix screen for it, four buttons, and a working editor. So I can actually program the computer from itself now... I'm just kinda trying to work out how to make a better keyboard, and I do have a touchscreen I'm tempted to attach to it, but I don't really like touchscreens much. Give me tactile stuff anyday.

But I should have everything required to make it print, now. It's got WiFi, and can find my WiFi printer. And I know the printer can take Postscript... I just need to generate it from input somehow, in the tiny 1kb of memory I've got available for runtime stuff.

I got to see my daughter today, so I kinda feel like I could conquer the world, but I'm probably going to be wrecked tomorrow, what with pushing myself to keep up with a toddler when I probably should have been taking it easy.

It can be tough to find the energy, but you should definitely try - it's far easier to find work when you're already working.

I'm not sure how useful this advice is considering I'll be losing my job in a week and a half. That doesn't seem like enough time to find something while I'm 'already working'.

Don't even. You guys went 9-7 last year. My Browns haven't won a game since 2016. We finally have a good, solid defense, and some potential on offense...and our kicker outright sucks. Missed three kicks in a single game last week. So we now have a tie game against the Steelers, and a last-minute loss to the Saints. Great way to start a season, and we have to play again Thursday night.

I'm taking a week and a half off work because I just realized that I have nearly 8 days of PTO that aren't going to roll over at the end of the month.

Actually, putting in for the time off on Tuesday is what alerted me to the fact that I had so much time off that would be expiring at the end of the month.

I'm leaving just one night for a work trip tomorrow, and it's a double-edged sword. On one hand, I'm gonna miss my son a lot, but on the other, I'll get a full night of uninterrupted sleep in a comfy hotel room. He's teething right now, so things are rough in that department for my wife and me.

Also super excited for Saturday because I'm going to visit friends and see the Tour Championship, which is the top 30 golfers of the year by points playing a final championship tournament. First time ever going to a golf tournament of any kind and will probably play with my buds on Sunday before I go home. Freaking Tiger Woods is gonna be there! I've promised myself that I won't be like everyone on TV during these tournaments with their phones out recording the whole event.

I'm waiting for my lecture to start and thinking about life. I read the thread about how everyone feels about their current jobs and it's been eating me alive thinking about how so many of you said you're unhappy with your careers. I'm going down a statistics degree path even though I'm not sure I would be able to live with a desk job. It seems like I'm on the younger end of the tildian spectrum, and I still have so much time to figure my shit out. I feel like I could eventually figure out everything in my life except for my career. I kinda feel guilty for worrying about this so much. Like the most stressful thing that's happened to me is that I forgot I had eyeliner on and rubbed my eye all over my white sleeve. I should be appreciating how easy my life is right now but I'm caught up in the future. I guess it's better than being caught up in the past, though.

So I have been in limbo for a job for almost a month now. I have a ton of credit card debt. I was planning on paying it off, but I found a house for rent and decided to take the credit card debt to go for it. I think I have the money for rent next month, but I am not positive. Luckily, I have dates set for training and should be working soon.

Overall, I love it. Life is challenging and fun.

Also, I just took up speedcubing. It is a really interesting hobby. I am still pretty terrible. I still use the beginners method. F2L is just really confusing right now, but I am experimenting with it. My record is just under 2 minutes, which is down from 6 minutes a week ago.
