I went for a walk on the lake side this afternoon. The temperature are slightly above zero currently but there was a furious wind, I could barely walk straight at some point, and even well equipped I sometimes was a bit chilly. Walking fast and uphill kept me going.

The light was beautiful though. The sun was peeking through the clouds, touching part of the landscape with shades of oranges, while the winter atmosphere engulfed the landscape with soft mists of blues and grays.

I got lost a bit and I had to walk alongside a road that had some traffic, which wasn't pleasant at all... I should I prepared the itinerary better. It was also borderline with the temperature, the wind and getting lost, but that's also part of the charm...

Switzerland. It wasn't really calming though, I almost went back after 15 minutes because it was so cold and windy. The good side of it is that I encountered no-one on the way.

I think I'll be taking an extended break everything. My birth-day is slowly turning into a birth-week, which I'm not at all opposed to. I promised myself I'd start eating healthier after the day, but I also managed to buy too much food to deal with in a day or two. (I mean, I love chocolate cake, but it's still there untouched – is how much food I'd bought.)

Compiled my Songs of the Year list today. Might share it on Tildes eventually. 29 tracks that made my year the way it is, plus the 37 on the Honorable Mentions list: things that are just nice to listen to.

Intergrid is near complete for initial release. If I decide to work on it instead of breaking, it may get released this week or early next. The initial release will be lacking in some features – most imporantly, the undo system – but otherwise be perfectly usable for taking notes. I'll keep adding the features until it's on-par with Indigrid, and then start working on Intergrid's unique parts.

Also want to rewrite an old short story of mine, as a way of getting back into writing. Most of those stories are not worth revisiting 'cause they make little sense outside of the image I had in my mind while writing but failed to convey. There are, however, a few I could use as a literary trampoline.

I have a wedding ring to make, which is for a friend so that's nice. I like doing wedding jewellery in general, but it is double nice when it is for someone I know. The friend is already married but they only had a cheap ring for the ceremony and are upgrading to a nice handmade electrum one from me. Also it's bloody freezing in my workshop at the moment so it'll be nice to get the metal melting torch out and warm the place up a bit.

Hopefully some more christmas orders will come in via Etsy or my website over the rest of the week, it's been very quiet this year so far.

Only part time - it's not the only thing I do - but yes.

I'd be interested in checking out your store. If you don't feel comfortable with self-promotion here, send me a DM?

I have been considering doing a post about my metal casting process because it might be vaguely interesting to people who don't have experience of such things.

I'd like to read that post. More content that's about crafting is definitely up my alley.

I'll be putting the finishing touches on my Timasomo project. It's entirely dialogue, so at this point it's hard to edit because I just "hear" the voices in my head the way I intend them to be. I'm now reading and re-reading it with different lenses, pretending I'm a new reader and even trying a few things out loud to see how they hit my ear. I'm looking for unintentionally ambiguous parts, places that need reinforcement, and pain points that I can smooth over. Even with polish it won't be great (this whole project was a great reminder that I'm just not good with fiction), but I'm shooting for a minimum of "serviceable."

Outside of that, it's reading and sleeping for me, and maybe some gaming if my computer behaves. This is going to be a tough work week for me, so I won't have the throughput for much else.

Yesterday I sent an email to my bosses saying I want to renegotiate my position at the company.
They've been having me create Camtasia tutorial videos for their app, when I was initially hired as a 3d modeling artist.

I've been hating this job for a long time now, and I feel like its been unproductive for my career. I'm 26, I should do something worthwhile now, not vegetate making videos and stuff that's boring and irrelevant to me.

I didn't outright quit, but I feel like I'll probably be let go now. I don't have anything lined up. Just hoping I can get a freelance career started, or get lucky and find a better job in this city. I'm afraid and uncertain, but hopefully I won't burn through too much of my savings before I figure something out. I'm kind of bad at getting work though (I work hard but don't know how to get any attention), so I'm a little worried.

If anyone's hiring, for the love of god please consider https://dannacu.com/ for your 3D art needs!

So yeah, this week is a toss-up and am going to be grinding out some new work.
