Are there any fans of the SCP Foundation wiki on Tildes?

I really want to talk about the SCP Foundation with other people, so let's get a thread going!

For those of you who don't know, The SCP Foundation is an online creative writing project where people write fake files and stories about The Foundation, a secret organization committed to containing various anomalous creatures. It's a really cool website, one that I recommend to anyone who likes thrillers, horror, sci-fi, or are just looking for something interesting.

Be warned though, there are over 4,000 entries on the wiki (they just had a 5,000th entry writing contest), so if you are feeling overwhelmed by the number of articles, feel free to start out with SCP-2030, one of my personal favorites. And if you're someone who prefers audiobooks to regular reading, a YouTuber going by the name Brendaniel has a great video narrating SCP-2030.

Started a long time ago with stuff like browsing 4chan's /x/ board as a kid (yeah i know), creepypasta wikis, eventually stumbled upon the site and some of the related fan-games of various kinds. There even used to be an SCP-087 fan game on Roblox! Anyway, I was hooked on the format, the idea of this "single universe" that's not actually singular, the way canon doesn't officially (and never will) exist, the way that you can construct this whole world and shape it to whatever your own personal favorite vision is.... It's so perfect to me. And it's all under a Creative Commons license, to boot. It's such a lovely effort by people who just..... love the idea of the SCP universe. Easily one of my favorite things that is still on the internet today.

    Some favorites:

    Captain Kirby's 001 proposal: O5-13

    Lily's 001 Proposal: The World's Gone Beautiful

    SCP-2316: Field Trip

    SCP-990: Dream Man

    SCP-1384: Taker of Turns

    SCP-1230: A Hero is Born

    SCP-001-EX: A Good Boy

    SCP-8900-EX: Sky Blue Sky

    SCP-2935: O, Death

    SCP-3009: Hi, I'm Your Snappelganger!

    SCP-3001: Red Reality

    SCP-3480: Olympus Mons

    SCP-4000

SCP-4376: Have you tried just smiling more?

SCP-4999: Someone to Watch Over Us

By no means a definitive favorites list, but some classics and some that people might not have ever seen before. Definitely forgetting some incredible ones like the kids trapped in a very well known FPS game server, the one where the Foundation severely mistreats a low-threat anomalous person & is a commentary on therapists who don't do their job, the one about the submarine, the one about the massive eel creature, the one about the two living boats.... There's just too many.

Dude, 990 is one of my favorites too! Also, I think the massive eel creature is 3000? Anantashesha I think it's called.

If you like SCP-990, give Ursula K. LeGuin's The Lathe of Heaven a try. One of my favourite books, ever.

Aaaaah, you'd be correct about 3000. And while we're on the topic of 1000/2000/etc. contest winners, I think it's my favorite out of all of them!

It's not technically an -EX, but it contains a sort of sub-skip in it that kinda ends up as a little -EX by the end. It admittedly might be due to some bias on account of the fact that I program a lot, but I always felt it did a fantastic job of doing an "explanation" story.

Just sat down and gave this a full read like it deserves, absolutely lovely skip, the twist in the -EX sub-skip got a notable chuckle out of me when I got to it. I think I'm a sucker for -EX skips at this point, the last time I went on a big SCP binge I ended up finishing off with some of them and they were easily one of my favorite bits of the site that I wish I remembered to check more often. Stuff like the GOI hubs are also up there in things I love when I'm reminded to visit them.

A favorite of mine that was mentioned in the last thread was 2521, which is discussed only in pictograms. 3333 is one that comes to mind as a cool one, as well.

There is no antimemetics division was an interesting series, if you haven't explored the stories.

I tend to read random ones, but have to go easy as some of them, even as mundane as 2521, can make me incredibly anxious, especially if the image is a humanoid face and I've been at it for a while.

I love the SCP wiki! One cool thing to check out on YouTube is Lord Bung's animated SCP series, Confinement.

To be honest, Confinement never really grabbed me, but I respect the effort nonetheless.

Yes! It's unsettling in a weird way. I almost wish there was more information, but I also like how the conceit of the SCP is kept up.

In the comment section of Brendaniel's video, someone mentioned how they think an elder god intercepted old game show recordings and is now trying to put on its own funny host persona, but is failing because it doesn't understand earth humor. It's become my own personal head canon!

Oh cool. It makes me think a little, but it's different, of that Steven Universe episode with the Pearl-Garnet fusion. She constructs this show around herself and it's really interesting.
