I attempted to make 4 types of cake using a cake tin I have. There are 4 types of flowers and like 5 each. There's like a rose, daisy, sunflower, and I think like a lilac/hyacinth looking dude? Either way, it went terribly. I didn't adjust one of the cakes leavening agents so they would over puff and collapse. The cakes only came out of two of the molds and the rest never came out. It was really frustrating, but I just changed to using a mini cupcake tin instead. They were a gift for a friend and she liked them, so that's what counts.

The flavors were supposed to be: rose cake with a vanilla glaze and crumbled pistachios on top, strawberry cake with a cream cheese glaze, honeysuckle green tea (matcha) cake with a honeysuckle glaze, and a lemon raspberry cake with a white chocolate ganache (I was going to put frozen raspberries in a food processor to sprinkle on top but I 100% forgot about that). The strawberry was the favorite, my friend was shocked how much like strawberry it tasted! The recipe I used called for a reduced, strawberry puree so it helped with reducing the liquid from the strawberries so there wasn't anything extra and packed a punch of taste.

While heart wrenching and hard, ultimately it was really fulfilling and I had a good time.

I mentioned a few days ago that we just got our new laser, so my girlfriend and I have been breaking it in and seeing what it can do. We're still dealing with some technical difficulties, but so far the stuff we've made has come out absolutely great.

It also came with a catalog of cool ideas for products and material along with a list of suppliers we can get stuff from. Paying as much as we are for a piece of equipment for our business is super stressful, but it also opens a lot of doors for us and I'm glad the company we bought it from is providing us with a good amount of support

My creality SR10 came with a laser burner, but I haven't really put it to much use. This is inspiring though, maybe I'll give it a shot.

You'll want to be extremely careful. If your laser isn't properly shielded it can permanently damage your eyes. Though I'm not sure how much power yours has.

I finished reorganizing my office, including sorting a bunch of computer parts - some of which I ended up taking to the electronics drop off - and containing my magic cards to two large containers. My workbench is mostly organized now, and I have some pegboard to put up for more tool organization. I'm going to cut this pegboard up and use about 2/3 of it for Nerf Gun storage / hanging in the kids' playroom.

Did a lot of "spring cleaning" sorts of things. We ordered a new couch about 10 weeks ago, and I think it's probably going to show up soon. They said it would be about 8 weeks for delivery, but not more than 14, so some time probably in the next month. To get that in, I've been sorting out the kids' playroom because we're going to put the old couch in there.

Really, just loads of sorting is what I did this weekend.

Oh, and we had a big family game of Among Us, which my son has been desperately asking for us to do. Got the 5 of us here playing plus my brother-in-law and his lady friend, and some cousins for a 9-person game, and it was a ton of fun. The highlight was certainly when my youngest (6) and second youngest (9) were the imposters, and still managed to beat all the geezers.

My father decided to show me how to use the trimming machine to trim my facial hair and it's a lot simpler and faster than I thought, so that's something I'll do more often now. I also went to another scheduled dentist appointment and she decided to tell us to get an X-ray to see how my teeth are going, presumably in more detail, so I'll be doing that relatively soon.
