I might give this a shot again. I may have done something wrong the first time I tried to bind holding caps to hyper using shkd-zig, esc when tapped.
Was also potentially juggling too many balls - I was trying to switch from Aerospace to Rift as my WM and so tried to bind certain combinations to Rift CLI commands, since at that time I wanted parity with Niri (okay, Hyprscrollr) on my Linux machine. That didn't really work so I went back to Karabiner Elements and Aerospace. Maybe macOS scrolling WMs are just weird.
I do use keyd + Hyprland on the Linux machine just fine though, hence the feeling of wanting to switch to skhd.

If the Tildes poster and post author are one in the same, I offer the following clarification regarding the "App Shortcuts" section of System Settings → Keyboard → Keyboard Shortcuts.
It allows the user to map or remap the key shortcut to any menu item in any application, even if the app in question is third-party. This is possible because nearly every application hooks the system-owned global menubar, contrasted to Windows and Linux where there are more ways to implement (or in the case of most GTK apps, not implement) a menubar as there are stars in the sky and thus there is no universal hook.
