You also get plenty of results that aren't at all Gargoyles, but I think the technique is still impressively good.
Those are so rad, excellent finds. Though I do want to note that for the pixel art, those are more likely vector art. Pixel art is drawin/making something by the pixel. Still, very cool aesthetic.

I like the idea of the search engine itself, but it's yet another site that isn't really useful unless you create yet another account. It ends up being similar to Pinterest in that when I see something I like on the site, I have no way to actually get at it, so it's basically just a big tease. Very frustrating.

Many of them seem to come from Pinterest, and then it shows both the Pinterest URL and the original URL.

I did a lot of Google image searching when I was DMing games of D&D and other RPGs, and nothing made me more frustrated than Pinterest images dominating the top of the results for everything I searched. The Pinterest results were usually cropped or poor quality, and often if you clicked through to the results, the actual image was gone, or the page the link led to didn't have the image at all. Plus Pinterest nagging you to create an account just to access the content it was shoving down my throat in search results pissed me off to no end. I usually just ended up excluding Pinterest from the search.

It’s a big collection, but nowhere near as many images as Google, which you can tell if you look for something specific. (I tried looking for images from Portal and there were only a few.) it seems to heavily weighted towards the sort of images that people would want to share on social media because they’re cool. Pinterest is the most common source, but some come from Instagram or Reddit groups like r/pics.
Yeah I've done some messing around with the same types of searching that I would do if I were DMing (character portraits were a big thing) and it's not half bad. It sometimes shows images that...

It sometimes shows images that aren't really what I'm looking for, but I do really appreciate it displaying the original image link when it grabs an image from Pinterest.
How the hell is anyone supposed to know that? There's not even an indication that's what happens, and it's difficult to tell since all the images are so similar! I'll file a bug with them since...

I could probably go all day at this.

Okay, I found a search that’s actually pixel art.
That is flippin' awesome!
Showed it to a friend and we spent a little bit going through it in a Wiki Game-like fashion.

Well, then it's borderline useless. Pinterest has really fucked up image search in general and this seems to further that.

Try "show image" from the context menu, see if that works.

I just stumbled on it.
This is alpha software that just launched weeks ago. Think of it more as a tech demo.
Oh sure. Sorry, I didn't mean to imply you were at fault for this. I'm just sort of venting here.
There is also a Twitter search engine. Here is the developer’s Twitter account.

It was working well last night. This morning it was working at first, and then I got server errors.
Edit: seems okay now.
