Scheduling posts

Usecases :

  • Recurring posting which can't be done (for numerous reasons) like @hungariantoast recently mentioned
  • Trickle-down posting because certain people feel bad when they post a bunch of topics since they feel like it floods the ~groups

There's room for abuse but I think Tildes' "Trust people but punish abusers" applies here.

I was thinking about posting this just yesterday! I wanted to ask more specifically if recurring posts could be created (maybe only by approved users / by request). I'm a pretty strong +1 on it.

Well, say I have 10 topics that I want to post. I probably don't wanna post them all at once so I'd post them like one now, one in an hour, one in 3hours, spread it out so it doesn't just look...

Because I'm marking that phrase as the particular one I'm suggesting. It's an object embedded within the sentence, rather than part of the sentence itself. If you said you were looking for a word...

            So, "wet".

This could be tied with trust system instead, hm.. You don't need to, use your username (or really any name will do) and you're good to participate on Gitlab ;)

Perhaps give mods permission to set occurring posts, and users can appeal to have things scheduled.

Wish I could contribute to the open source, but I'm not really interested in tying my face to this account lol.

I think this feature should be only available to mods. Like the automoderator.

There's no need for bots when you own the platform. As I said here, we could potentially link it with the trust system so not anyone can do it.
