This is like seeing the headline "Warner Bros looking to sell Warner Bros," or like in Flight of the Conchords when Dave told the story of the guy whose whole body was cut off--they grabbed his dick and cut off his whole body. That's all he was in the end...a dick. Fitting, because WB seems to be run by a giant dick AND Looney Tunes is practically synonymous with WB.
Absolutely insane if true. This is like if Disney decided to sell Mickey and friends for their value as scrap. It’s really difficult to undersell just how destructive Zaslav is and has been for...

It’s really difficult to undersell just how destructive Zaslav is and has been for the company. The sooner he’s ousted the better.
I just hope that if this is true, Bugs and the crew land someplace where they get the respect they deserve.
I was going to say this is a lot like Disney with the Muppets. They have something universally loved by the masses, have done a bad job of utilizing it, and clearly have no idea what else to do...
I was going to say this is a lot like Disney with the Muppets. They have something universally loved by the masses, have done a bad job of utilizing it, and clearly have no idea what else to do with it. But yeah you're right it's even worse because it is like Disney scrapping Mickey. It's so integral to the company's identity that it's insane to even consider it.
I guess at this point all we can do is hope the backlash is strong enough to fix the problem on WB's side. Or at least hope it gets sold in such a way that it ends up on Netflix, Prime, Hulu, or some other cross-studio streaming platform.

I think Disney is actually doing pretty good with the muppets, honestly. The problem with them is that they really worked best in the vaudeville / variety show format, which is basically dead today. The muppets were best when they were always making new characters and concepts, having the feeling that literally anything could happen. It was TV magic. Without that it doesn’t really work, and the ensemble of puppets that people call “the muppets” are more or less sad tired tropes from the 70s and attempts to modernize them just don’t stick because they are put against highly developed larger than life characters in a way that is hard to duplicate.
In the meanwhile, Jim Henson Workshop is still up and running and are still producing a lot of projects, so muppets are still carrying Henson’s legacy. It just doesn’t look the same as it used to.
Sneider said, “I’m told that part of the reason WB decided to sell Coyote vs. Acme to Ketchup rather than take a tax credit a month before Tax Day (April 15) is because the studio is trying to sell off the Looney Tunes altogether.”
They should, but they've done quite the opposite; this past week they just removed their animated properties from Max, the streaming platform that they own...

Key quote from Yahoo:
I dont know if its the case, but WB should have their animated properties on every single streaming platform.

Whoever buys it needs to bring back the Animaniacs for a season just to roast the WB relentlessly.

Well, guess that settles where WB's priorities are.
