I watched some of these making of clips after the episodes. It's kinda weird to have this all this deeply self-ironic stuff and then have Dan Harmon talk about growth and trust and character development in this super serious tone. I honestly thought the whole citadel thing is basically just one branch they're doing to cover a particular flavor of interdimensional travel joke but they talk like they really want to take this seriously? I don't think it will be much more than a season 6 special episode. And while there's some good jokes with "infinite Ricks", I'd rather see individual episodes that pick up other sci-fi tropes and have fun with those.
The callback to Marvel in episode 8 is funny now that R&M is heading in that same direction (multiverse at the end of Loki, beyond the Central Finite Curve in S5E10).

I have trouble with the Citadel, in particular Janitor Rick, Policeman Rick etc... I feel it's inconsistent with the shows premise that Rick is always a self centered egotistical genius bastard....

Why would any incarnation of Rick want to become a lowly janitor or policeman in a citadel of geniuses?
I wouldn't want to hang with a bunch or alternate reality versions of me.

The primary Rick of the show has even said that he's "the most Rick Rick", and as such does not like the Citadel. This implies that the Citadel's population is almost entirely composed of Ricks further down the spectrum than C-137.
Same reason anybody takes any job, it pays the rent. Not every Rick would have a Beth they could crash with or a Morty to galavant around with, and the citadel was founded to keep Rick's safe, so...

The whole meet yourself angle is really quite interesting and isn't really explored beyond the fact that Rick is a bit of a dick, even to himself.
I'll start watching it just as soon as I can watch it on the HBO Max, the service which I pay for in part because it was supposed to include Adult Swim but ended up being the most disappointing...

I do like Hacks, but the once-a-week release schedule just absolutely kills the pacing; I wish that I waited until it was over with to start watching.
The sad thing is that this is what I got to replace Hulu, and now it seems like more of the new stuff that I would be interested in watching is coming to Hulu, though honestly I'm not sure it's enough to get me to pay for Hulu again.
May want to wait until November to see if they run the Black Friday deal again, or if you have a college email, you can apply through there. https://www.hulu.com/student

IIRC, it was after only Season 3 that stopped happening, presumably due to StackTV buying the rights to distribute Adult Swim programming here in late 2019. :(
Apparently R&M is still available on Netflix in Australia and New Zealand though.
Super glad I'm too young and too lucky to have the finale's after-credits bit hit home. Even just imagining it was rough.

Most people hate watching videos of themselves.

Also, there is a Rick that eats poop.

Really? The most disappointing streaming service? You've got access to all of the HBO content!

New Rick & Morty episodes have never run on Netflix.
Not in the US, at least.
