I live in a country that swings to 100% inflation and beyond once every 20 years.

90% of our diet is pasta/rice/bread and grains. Chicken maybe once a week, 0.5-1 kilo or less red meat in a month. Eating out is only for special occasions or when abusing online ordering sales.

Rents are insane (could be +50% of your wage), people tend to live with their parents so less economic mobility inside the country.

Vacationing or touristic travel is non-existent for many.

Money is invested into foreign currencies, real estate and cars.

But since everything will be cheaper than tomorrow some people abuse credit cards and overspend, essentially living shackled to debt.

And yes I would be very mentally disturbed if I had voluntarily taken part in conception of a human being. I think I would be a better parent than the average , bar is really low nowadays , but nothing is perfect and there were literally no reason for that child to come into existence.

VHEMT is not anti-natalism, they do have overlapping areas but should not be examined in the same sentence.

There is no anti-natalism movement either ( There was a group doing some advertising years ago but insignificant ), it is a self-contained philosophy. Meaning you can not enforce it beyond personal level.

I agree that very nature of this kind of thinking process is extremely depressing but you really don't have to dismantle the value of human life or anything like that.

The only basic logic you need to run on is that all sentient lives ,some people include animals as well, are capable of suffering without an ability to consent to becoming into existence in the first place. So a conscious person may decide against childbearing of their own.

This does not mean life itself shall not be cherished, it is actually quite the opposite. Since you only have one life, you should live it to your content as much as possible ( Some anti-natalists go straight into machiavellianist thoughts from here ).

As for r/antinatalism , I don't want to sound like a gatekeeper but that sub started to flood with depressed doomers and environment obsessed people ( like VHEMT here ) after it gone above 30K members, I stopped browsing after that. I also come across some eugenics rhetorics as well which is absolutely unacceptable. ( Stuff like only trying to apply anti-natalism if those parents are disabled etc.)
The main reason I firmly reject this people is because they may not agree with the core principle of the philosophy so they may just go ahead into procrastination if their economic/social life improves which are completely irrelevant to anti-natalism.

I had a meeting with my professor today and it looks like we will be moving forward with our agrivoltaic (agriculture under solar panels) project. He asked me to design an interface to streamline the process between AutoCad - SketchUp - PvSyst.

I am a bit worried because my greatest achievement in programming is designing a GPA calculator in Python. I have no idea how to link up these programs in an automatic style, let alone code it.

Gone above 300 hours in Genshin Impact today, I thought I would run out of content because I am completely f2p yet it just never ran dry.

But it kind of saddens me to learn about lore because this game could have been a much more sophisticated project rather than a "just add enough content so people will keep buying."

I am also waiting for Persona 3's Remake crack ( not sure if I am allowed to mention piracy ) so I can experience it, though that seems a bit far fetched.

    Genshin Impact:

I started the game with fears of falling into content drought because I had no money to throw at but despite being a gacha game it proved itself to be very enjoyable and engaging.

Its exploration is vast and its characters are colorful. Story content has its ups and downs but overall quality increases as you progress further into.

I am only about 130 hours in ( Sumeru ) so my experience might drastically change in the next 100 hours , especially after I wrap up the story content and side missions.

One complaint I would have is that it feels like game mechanics and graphics are purposely dumbed down to be playable in mobile platforms as well, which I understand why but pains me to see that this game could be a lot more.

Mushoku Tensei's 26th volume will also be publishing next week, when Redundancy finishes as well it might be the end for Mushoku universe or at least a very long hiatus.

Slime could work, since its seasons are not in rapid production and I've grown tired of waiting for them.

Goblin Slayer is also nice but I have a problem with it because its world doesn't seem to exist without its characters.

Hmmm... it is Slime then, should probably start from the beginning.

This could be correct; in countries where red meat is extremely expensive, diet of common folk includes more grain and vegetables ( speaking from experience ).

So if you were to push the people of developed nations to pay the premium, it would first disincentivize small livestock producers. If big players can't bring in supply fast enough, it might cause permanent shifts in dietary choices.

But production numbers and investment popularity must be thoroughly taken into consideration otherwise monopolisation of big companies would increase.

Exams are done in designated weeks across the entire university, I don't believe you can just take exams at an alternative date, besides I will be responsible from 10 exams next semester. Better get them done now rather than later.

I understand that everyone has their own pace, as my elder brother said once: "Do not approach classes based on how others performed, approach them by your own knowledge and interest".

Maybe it is because I started uni with high hopes of social life so being even more alienated than I am currently are feels lonesome.

I am having my first exam week of university, from tuesday to sunday I have 9 exams to enter. I am barely keeping my notes above 50/100 on my main courses, I knew that university courses were harder but didn't expect this level of intensity.

    To give a perspective:
We are taking 20-24 credits in total.
Mechanical engineering program takes in 50 people every year, 90 people entered Calculus-I exam, course average is 22/100 ( only 15 people scored above 50 ); you need 50/100 on average and a minimum of 60/100 from the final to pass course.

It is similar situation for Physics-I as well, thought of more than half of class failing makes me feel anxious.

More than 60 thousand people ( unofficial counts goes up to 120.000 ) have lost their lives in February 6 earthquakes. Many buildings became pancakes, all infrastructure failed and logistics were torn apart.

(Trigger warning ! Do Not Read Below If You Are Sensitive)

We have heard stories of children surviving rubble but dying from cold before dawn.
I have seen corpses that turned into minced blobs because buildings just kept crashing on top of each other.
Missing people being put together limb by limb as workers with dead eyes store them inside of garbage bags.

And for all that damn moment I have been wondering about 2 things:

1- There were reports on rubble analysis; cement filled with plastic bottles, ash, hay etc. Columns missing half of their iron reinforcements. Missing walls between buildings.
The type of stuff that made me question, was it even worth it ?

You can't construct an apartment without multiple engineers signing on it. Sure maybe you have some relatives here and there, maybe a few would be willing to break a few red lines to make you happy so you can reduce your building costs by what, 20% ?

But we are talking about 60 to 120k dead people here and a million wounded with 15 million directly affected this was no isolated accident. It was systematic corruption and lack of ethics on regards to human life.

2- What if my building isn't safe ?

Who the hell knows the engineer that signed of it 30 years ago was competent ? Was not greedy, was not a liar and a lazy criminal who couldn't be bothered even if it was the human life on danger.

Graduates and current eng.s needs to understand the outcome of their choices:

They must be reminded that it is the very human life within them,
That can come across this type of man-made massacre at any moment,
For if we can't trust the tile that we sleep on, the roof we stare to,
The balcony which we laugh in and kitchens we cook in,
Who can guarantee that we won't get into a preventable coffin ?
