    Two ways Go to where your clients are: Find conventions where they present, sell etc, and go up to their booths. Listen to their problems and try to offer solutions through conversation....

Ultimately it’s just trying to show you have confidence in your topic. I haven’t become a millionaire this way, but it’s done better than cold calling. One thing to note is that a lot of these events are not cheap and designed to keep freelancers out. So having an llc and appear like you are a business will get you more ear time. Just be mindful and respectful.

    2. Networking: This will be the more exhausting one. You need to go to as many events as you can. Ideally one a week. These should be events related to your industry and outside. The goal of this is to grow your “word of mouth” reach since people are more likely to recommend a person they know, than one they don’t. This is also a thing that should not stop. I know many people that stop networking the moment they have a full time job, or steady freelance work. Then when it dries out or are fired, they are back in the same cycle.

    I saw it in iMax and it was hard to hear at the beginning. My brain was able to mostly adjust about 20min in. If closed captions are an option, I would say do that one. There was also one scene...

    I don’t think either issues are less important. People may argue that it’s time wasted, but if the city ignored it, 10yrs from now people would say it’s too late to act and they should have acted...

    The tone of this article is very confusing. The way it’s framed seems to be pro airbnb? As someone who lives in the area, I don’t think I’ve heard a single person complain about losing air bnbs....

Hell, Jersey almost had a building with 100 apartments that was going to be 100% airbnbs and the city stopped it. No one locally wanted it. If there are no regulations, what’s to stop manhattan from just becoming 100% airbnbs and hotels decades from now? More and more towns in Jersey are removing short term rentals. Hoboken is one of the few embracing it and they are struggling with housing, parking and some insane flooding.
