Others have mentioned deck builders, and I agree with the recommendation of Across The Obelisk, which has the advantage of co-op.
The Stanley Parable is also good fun with just a move and interact button. Less sure on this one, but pretty confident you could bind it all to the nose.

https://www.quora.com/Why-don%E2%80%99t-modern-civilian-cargo-ships-also-use-sails-in-addition-to-engine-power-to-reduce-fuel-consumption?share=1Maybe this is a dumb question, but why don't modern ships already use sails? I mean I get that a of the time it could just cause more drag if the wind aren't favorable, so it'd need to be deployable, but still you'd think that they'd take the free movement when they could given the size of these vessels. Huh, maybe that's it, they can't make sails big enough to really matter for such a heavy thing?

At a certain level, monks get the ability to catch arrows, so in response DMs stop using archers as enemies. Well, this kind of sucks because it doesn't allow the PC to flex their strengths, and if they never get to use their ability it's as good as never getting it in the first place. So, even when you know it's futile from a win/ lose perspective, shoot your monks. It's more fun that way.
I like to think of kobolds like Kevin mccallister from home alone basically. The party are the burglars and every day is Christmas Eve. So a grenade bouquet made from beer bottles, a massive keg rolling down stairs to crush them (bonus points if there is a shiny but worthless ring at the base as the lure), a brewing tank set to explode foul, malty steam at them, a pungee pit made from the sharpened end of bar stools, huge sack of grain on a rope that swings at them, endless possibilities.
Here's a deep dive on designing traps for the game that I find useful to rewatch every now and again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3HSw-ANugg
E: I forgot to mention to look at Dungeon of the Mad Mage! If I ever need inspiration, it's in that adventure somewhere. In your case look at level 2 (arcane chambers) area 22 (garrux brewery). The book is out there if you're not looking to pick up a $30 book for one section btw.

I can recommend journaling. That helps me write something consistently and has the added benefit of being good for mental health as a little piece of the earth where you can be as honest as you like. I prefer pen and paper, the tactile nature is also soothing. Plus it's low stakes, just write as much or as little as is on your mind, even if it's too say nothing happened today and there's nothing on your mind. Funny how once you commit that to paper something tends to pop up ha

Coming off the series I though it was brilliant because so much was getting answered right off the bat. Plus there were all these references to other things happening that really piqued my interest. About halfway through was when I realized my mistake ha. I will say the back half is much better than the front from a plot perspective. Though in all it seems to be a book that is much more about the thematic elements of the series than the first, or it focuses in on the ones introduced by Wool. I'd say stick with it, or skip some of the early chapters if it's really killing you. There's a turning point some ways in, maybe like 25%.

Next is the first Earthsea book. Really liking the way it's written. Very simple language but conveys a big sense to the world.
I just received a copy of A Billion Years, which is the autobiography of a guy who worked as the head of the scientology 'intelligence' department and then left.

Comment on First experience as a DM, I'd like to take a party of level 3 characters to a quick journey to Sigil. What sort of creatures might work at a brewery within the City of Doors? in ~games.tabletop

What I mean is, anytime they start a new 'encounter' (not just combat, but they're doing a thing), toss a d4 that they can see. They have that many rounds before a complication arises (patrol, laser defense grid activates, their source of light flickers and dies, anything that ratchets up the feeling stuff is about to go wrong). Super helpful to keep them moving and thinking, they can't sit around and game out the optimal solution to every problem.
For example:
-
A gigantic tankard made for a giant rests above a trapdoor. A DC 15 Str check can move it, or they can lighten it by drinking the foul swill within. A clockwork oni patrols the halls, slow but steady. In 2d4 rounds the guardian will reach them.
-
The level they need to get to has one entrance that is heavily guarded and fortified, but the vast network of pipes that run around the facility can be used to bypass this. In order to crawl through one, they need to flush it and open the entry from the brewing chamber. In the brewing chamber are huge vats surrounded by veritable hills of grain, and the whole place smells like a cheap bar the morning after a long party. The massive wheel that flushes the pipe and opens the hatch is easy enough to find, but will take some time to open. As it does, it emits a teeth grating whine as it turns, attracting the attention of the yeast golems and swarms of rats that have made their home in the grain piles. The mechanism once started will continue to work until the hatch pops open. This will take 1d4 + 4 rounds. Each round add 1d4 more monsters to the mix, this being a test of survival not outright killing. Recommend using mob rules, where each member of a mob has 1hp, and instead of each one attacking they give +1 bonus to the attacking creature per member of the mob (ie 3 rats are attacking the paladin, only one actually attacks but has a +2 bonus to hit and damage).

A very lost and and very drunk dwarf patron has been haplessly wandering the halls, avoiding the dangers with a mr Magoo like luck. He'll give them one of his dwarven trinkets (pick a decent magic item) if they can guide him back to a source of ale. While he's never in danger, his escort will be in the wake of the chaos he seems to usher around him. Crates fall requiring dex saves, he staggers over a narrow railing connecting two platforms requiring an acrobatics check. A moment after he wanders through a cargo door it begins to close, requiring strength to keep it open so the rest can get through.

I haven't noticed any issues, but even so it'll get improved over time with patches and only get cheaper so objectively speaking this is the worst time to buy it, if you wanna think of it like that.

I've been playing through Remnant 2 and having a great time with it. I think they've hit on a great mix of combat and challenge. Plus I was pleasantly surprised to find that the writing, especially for the lore, was quite engaging (the intro doesn't set a high bar tbh). Still in progress for the game, so no spoilers please, but what do you think?

Seems that there has been a recent breakthrough in fusion reactions putting out more energy than they take in. There's a lot of hype and exaggeration that comes along with popular science reporting, so I thought I'd check to see which end of the spectrum this lands on.
