Guys, stop with the paper bags. This has been solved before. Where I live (Belgium), you don't get plastic bags anymore in grocery stores (unless you pay for premium ones). Just bring your own container and that's it. People kept raging about this for a year: "But what if I forgot to bring my own bag!?!???!!!". Now everyone's accustomed to it. Going to the store? Ok, bring the bags.

A lot of these "compostable bags" are actually only to be composted by industrial setups, so yeah, some greenwashing magic going on here.

It still baffles me that people think that plastic straw bans are there mainly to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. That's not what the bans are for, it's mainly because of environmental issues (such as pollution of the oceans, microplastics inside fish, animals getting choked, etc). So yes, this article looks more like the author needed to rant, but instead he should've done more research.

'Gametje' to me sounds something West-Flemish people would say ;-) And I (East-Flemish) would probably say: 'Gameke'.

I have been informed by native Dutch speakers on Tildes that it should have been ‘Gamepje’ to be "correct" but I liked the way Gametje sounded better.

Okay, but there's also added mental load? In the form of figuring out why 'package x' doesn't behave like it would on a "normal" distro.

I'm a dev, I've done both approaches. Currently I try to setup everything as much out-of-the-box as possible, and the rest I run in Docker. Through the years I've always been shifting OS's as well:

5 years Windows: until I get tired of all the bloat, inconsistencies and updates
5 years Linux: until I get tired of having to spend hours fixing Wayland glitches, or Flatpak issues, or...
5 years Mac: until I want to play games again :D, and being disgusted by Apple's pricing, walled-garden and handholding approach

They did some innovation there for the regular 16. But yes, I'm all for easy replaceable batteries in everything, especially their AirPods.

Maybe next year they'll innovate a replaceable battery.

That's super nice, but I guess it's more a tinkering thing? I mean, I switch laptop every 5 years, so for me setting up a new computer isn't something I do often. And I'd guess the time spent on figuring out things in NixOS is greater then me just re-installing everything on my new laptop in 1 day. In case of laptop failure, well I do have a full system backup which does incremental backups every week.

Yeah, this game was really hardcore, maybe that's why it was less popular. Last one I played was Tribes Ascend, which was okay-ish, but the servers were full of cheaters so it became unplayable.

One of the hardest multiplayer FPS games I played. You have to combine flying through the air with the physics of shooting flying discs/rockets at each other, whilst making use of the terrain to build up your speed and maximizing the pros of your current combat class. It was really innovative for its time, unfortunately they messed up with future releases...

Strong nostalgic feelings towards this one, but it had well designed levels, a great soundtrack and overall very "atmospheric" fun game.

I was indeed not very clear about my train of thought.

It goes as following: for solar/wind, we'll need some kind of energy storage (batteries/lithium). Because where I live (and in lots of other places in the world too), there's just not enough reliable wind and solar at times. The question is, what areas need the biggest amount of lithium? Is it cars? And can we improve there, or can we replace some areas with hydrogen? For the energy issue: I honestly think that we should not invest in huge energy storage (lithium based) facilities and just focus more on nuclear. And who knows one day nuclear fusion.

FYI: No insult taken, I like discussions too. That's why I love it here more than on Reddit.

100% agreed, but I would guess you need less amount of uranium to be mined than you would need to do for the equivalent of solar/wind?
