Now that me and my buddies are preparing for our very first DnD evening, I did a little bit more research and figured that with my new knowledge it was time to start playing Baldur's Gate 3 again (which I had abandoned a year ago), but this time with a new character: Forest Gnome Bard. Combat is harder, but outside interactions are easier, so there's that.

    • Soundtrack of "Past Lives" (perfect for working)
    • Olivia Dean - Art of loving (normally this isn't really my kind of music, but I think she's got a nice voice)
    • Pink Floyd - Animals
    • Pink Floyd - Dark side of the moon (I've been really into Pink Floyd after seeing a documentary on how and why the "Wish you were here" album was created)
    • Sabrepulse - Chipbreak wars (breakbeat meets bits and bleeps)
    • Fat Freddy's Drop - Based on a true story
    • Sly and the family Stone (just random songs)

And the sad thing is: I'd hoped that this would also increase R&D for SMRs but instead, they're also building new gas plants (in the US) which is truly the opposite of what the world needs.

But again, look at the top-charts right now, a lot of stuff sounds like it was made by AI already (lyrics, sound), compare that to The Beatles which were the pop icons of their time.

Honestly, this doesn't surprise me. A lot of (human generated) popular music nowadays is also lacking soul. I just listened to Taylor Swift's latest album: overproduced, sterile, boring, unoriginal. Yet part of my friend group think it's great.

Now compare that to how they made music in the 70s, 80s, 90s. A lot of this can be blamed on the record labels I think.

And before you state that I'm a boomer and should stop yelling at the sky: I'm not.

Obviously it's not perfect, and can be slow at times, but it's mostly a "batteries included" type of software, and I really enjoy using the exact same shortcuts through all their apps (PyCharm, Webstorm, Rider, AndroidStudio, DataGrip,...)

Off topic, but what's the appeal in Silksong? Is it the graphics, the storyline,...?
I've never played any game of them but looking at gameplay videos, all I see is a good looking platformer. Convince me to try it out!

And here I thought I was an absolute chad picking up my boxers and socks from the ground with my toes.

I grew up with a friend who could pick up a tennis ball with his toes, which I have always regarded as the pinnacle of that particular art.

After the renewed interest, I started playing Star Wars Battlefront II now that I was able to get it on steam for € 4.
I'm only 1.5 hours in the campaign, but I'm not sure if I'll finish it ever. Maps and objectives feel very linear, UI glitches, overall bugs (I can't remap the F2 key for some reason??). Furthermore, I've tried multiplayer but the lobby system is crappy, and it also crashed on me couple of times.
    In summary: a typical EA-game.

So then we both agree I guess? You can still keep looking at old DVD's/books of Harry Potter you already purchased. Just don't buy new stuff.

I just really struggle to understand how you can continue to enjoy a property when you know how much damage that it helped create.

I get what you're saying, but it's too hard to draw a line here. I'd say, just enjoy what she made in the past and be critical of her present/future work.
