Of course, wading through "The Ocean of Piss" has always been an acquired taste, no matter how valuable the seashells may be, so it's fair to still not want to partake.

Sniffing around in the topic history here, I see a single mention of "medium length/watch", which would fit in with what I have in mind. However, what I'm really angling for here is "very long read/watch" tags, as I've seen articles here that are at least twice the length of others with "long read", and anything by, for example, NeverKnowsBest, is going to be an order of magnitude larger than the 30 minute minimum for long watch.
"Very short read/watch" is probably fine too, but I imagine that anything that would actually fit that label is probably against the posting spirit of Tildes.

The issue I do see is: how secure is it? Can someone break into it and steal ammo? Is it in a secure location in a store?
Better armed employees? The almost comical scenario I have in mind is someone trying to rob a gun store, which is what these establishments essentially are now.

I sincerely believe that humanity is almost literally shooting itself in the foot by embracing shoes and shaming/shunning barefootedness, and that we should be doing anything else possible to avoid putting a barrier between our feet and the ground. If you're even a little acclimated to going barefoot, the circumstances in which you actually need protection are way smaller than one might think (a steel mill, sure, a restaurant, not so much), and there are alternative solutions to problems we're currently solving with shoes.
Tracking in dirt? Sanitary wipes, or running water.
Glass? Watch where you're going, and carry a pair of tweezers in the event of something miniscule getting stuck.
Syringes? Get serious on a larger scale about putting a stop to this behavior.
Hookworm? Tell people to stop taking dumps on the ground, it's species specific.
Plantar warts? 1) don't keep your feet in moist, dark environments, and 2) we have vaccines for HPV, and plantar warts are both related and have far fewer simplexes, so a vaccine should be quite easy to create if we collectively cared to.
Expectations/"disrespectful"? Utterly irrelevant, I argue from a place of function (have you seen the difference in shape between a natural human foot and a shoe? Don't tell me there aren't physiological consequences), these are comparatively arbitrary.
If we want to solve foot and back problems, as we ought, then the solution is to subtract, no matter how much some may dislike it. In fact, if they dig in their heels about not allowing it in their establishment, they ought to be shamed instead. We don't go out wearing gimp suits just in case we get struck by lightning, and we don't need shoes until we really, truly need them... And for reference, with some training, people can go barefoot in snow and be just fine.

The main thing I've noticed is the engagement dropoff on NoSleep and WritingPrompts, and that leaves me disheartened as they used to be where I'd go for a daily dose of fiction. I think there's been a similar decline in the others I mentioned (minus EpicSeven, that one's always been kinda small), but it's especially palpable on the writing subreddits.

I'd previously completed a Rogue run with Barren Land active, that wasn't too bad. This run was a test of my skills though, and were it not for the frankly ridiculous combination of a Glyph of Camouflage and the Huntress's Rejuvenating Steps skill granting almost on-demand stealth, I don't think I would have made it to the end.
I got serious about Epic Seven again, and finished the Real Time Arena (RTA, where you and your opponent draft units back and forth and then face each other in real time) season at a tier high enough to earn a skin for a character for the first time. It was kind of scary at first, as I was learning essentially how to draft, but I knew that one could hit Master (the tier necessary to earn the skin, and there are four more tiers above it) with a 33% win rate... But I hit a pretty good stride, and made it up to a 53% win rate. I think that if (for some reason) you're looking for a gacha to play, you need look no further. The company seems to genuinely care about player satisfaction, and the writing is at least most of the time more than good enough.

Ms Carberry said that police officers found Gustavson's penis "in a drawer in his home four years after it had been amputated".
This did though. At least he practiced what he preached, I guess?

Don't worry about the name, it's safe for work, and while the premise has drifted it was originally about Furcadia and the author's friends. The early stuff is really amateurish in quality, but at some point it undergoes a dramatic evolution.
There's also Goblins, if you can tolerate that one's shortcomings.
If you haven't read them yet, I can also recommend 8 Bit Theater, as well as Bob and George, the two comics that started the sprite comic trend of the 2000's. They've both ended, but they're hilarious, and I'd even say worth a reread if it's been a long time since someone last read them.

It'd be neat if people could meet over "weird" stuff they have in common, like going barefoot everywhere.
Something open ended like that could, I think, work better than old OKC's endless questions (though I did appreciate the math and sequencing ones it offered).

It's much more aggressive about meta progression than StS, being able to max out one character's skill tree (of which your party will have four out of... sixteen?) Will take many hours. It also has extremely basic sound design, enough to grate (though if it's on mute during a meeting, I guess that won't be an issue).
Not saying it's bad, mind you. But it's enough of a different beast for it to not be every StS player's cup of tea.
I'd wager Vault of the Void is a safer bet for enjoyment, it felt more like StS to me.

Off-topic, but at an excess of ten thousand words, this article would be an excellent candidate for the "very long read" tag I've previously suggested.
