I'd love to finish the Horizon Engine and have a bunch of people explore it, but its probably gonna take at least 8-12 more months I'd guess before I'm done. At least with my build I can continue working on it in creative and then quickly rebuild it in a new season when there's more server activity. I certainly enjoy checking in on your progress though TSP. Maybe I should abandon my project temporarily and help you finish your vision of Poland in the free time I do have. Then if you end up rejoining next season (I know you've been doubting it, so no pressure, but also a teeny bit of pressure cause you'd be missed) you could help me rebuild the horizon engine if you don't want to play as much.

The smoke plumes for my rocket engines are the only design like that I've done before but I think they came out pretty good. I'm hoping in the next couple weeks things will start to be on a routine where I can maybe play some again.

My dad has been having issues with our city's code enforcement about various issues with his property. He has some moderate hoarding problems, with boats and scrap metal in particular, but there are also some self built structures on his property which were not permitted. He put off fixing these issues to the point where they have been fining him $100 daily for about a month. Then Wednesday evening while I was at work he had a severe stroke and has been in the hospital since. He is completely paralyzed in his right side and has lost all ability to meaningfully communicate. And he also has a minor legal issue he was working through at the same time which I'll have deal with potentially. Luckily he comes from a big family so I've had tons of support so far. The doctors say he's an excellent candidate for rehab based on how tough he is and how he seems motivated to move around and attempt communication, so there's hope he could make a meaningful recovery, but its still early days. And obviously I also will have to work on resolving the issues with code enforcement, but it turns out my bosses mom is on the city council, so hopefully we can get some leniency through her (they previously told us over the phone they cant stop the fines even if he's incapacitated). So that's what I'm dealing with currently. I'd still very much like to complete The Horizon Engine eventually, so I'll continue plugging away at it when I have some time again, even if that means I end up having to rebuild it all again next season. Wish me luck.

The honeycomb block works really well with the stripped spruce and yellow terracotta. I like using the minecraft block palette website to help make good combinations of blocks for a build.

To use this track all you have to do is walk up and get into the waiting minecart, a sculk sensor will detect that you've gotten into the cart and power the rails to get you moving, then shortly after you leave the station, a new minecart is autocrafted and dispensed onto the track to wait for the next use. At each end of the track the minecart is automatically broken by a cactus and disposed of in lava. The redstone is my own design and it's about as small as possible I think, so I'm pretty proud of it. Feel free to copy for other stations if desired.

Another week, another new building. I borrowed @Mendanbar's idea of using a working conveyor belt in my incinerator building.
I also added two "atmospheric condensers" as a way for the city to collect water.
Then I decided to make a second market stall to fill out a little more space.
My in game map is starting to look a bit like a circuit board which is a neat coincidence.
I also finally decided on a way for non-flyers to access the city from the overworld. The city is dumping excess water* out of the sewer down to the ground below. There's a bubble column to ride up into the sewer system and then a ladder to the city streets. Maybe I'll think of something more glamorous in the future, but for now this will have to do. No picture, it's a column of water coming out of a tube. *filtered and sanitized water, we are environmentally conscious at The Horizon Engine.
Next up is a medical facility for the city.
Edit: Just took this night shot of my city from a distance. It's coming together.

Echoing creesch and TSP, definitely don't feel intimidated by other builds. Everyone starts out with more or less the same skill at this game, its just a matter of putting time into whatever project you build. Even a small stone shack can become impressive if you just keep chipping away at it and adding more and more details. Reference images are also a great way to learn how to build in my opinion, just find something you like and try to replicate it with blocks.
One other thing to keep in mind is that for my city, I've been building everything twice because its a lot easier to do these complicated designs in creative with the Axiom mod and then use the Litematica mod to recreate it on the server. I'd never be able to achieve the results I have so far otherwise, and these aren't necessarily beginner friendly mods. But just like everyone else, I start with a dirt hut at the beginning of the season and work towards something better, it just so happens that I have more free time than most (until recently that is).
Edit: Oh and also, never be afraid to ask for help or advice on a build, sometimes a fresh set of eyes can help with a problem or spark inspiration on what you want to do next.
