The server operates on a soft whitelist. Anyone can log in and walk around, but you need a Tildes account to gain build access.
Heads up, the server host will take our server down for maintenance on April 1st at 11:00 AM EST for up to 60 minutes (They have assured me this is not an April Fools prank).
WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE
Hey, it could be worse. It could've been up to 61 minutes! Or 62 even!!!
I can handle 60min, I might even be able to handle 61min if needed, but 62min is too much for me
That gives me vibes of Chest High Wall.
You can't say stuff like this without linking the video! I had to go looking for it so I could enjoy it all over again. :D
FWIW I also got Holy Hand Grenade instruction vibes
yo wdup here are some pics:
tl;dr album link
Terraforming
I apparently did approximately 50 hours of terraforming, and there's still some work to do.
Building pics + references
That is looking really impressive. I should take the journey out there again, it has been a while. Was the decision to terraform away the island mainly to create more space to build?
Thanks and yes to your question.
Titanic progress, all funnels are up with beacons, some finishing items like vents have been added, still quite a lot of deck items to go.
Haven't had as much time to hop on this week but I was able to AFK at the piglin farm and help re-stock some of our community quartz supplies.
Does the piglin farm break if the "unstackables" fill up all their chests?
It's been a joy to slowly watch you build this thing! I check the photos every week to see where it's at now and it's really coming together!! Super cool!
Thank you! Been quite the ride so far, still a decent bit to go on the exterior but it's mostly there. A lot of the finer details require a wider variety of blocks that takes more planning in survival rather than creative mode. Hope to have the exterior fully finished in the next week or two. Interior is a whole different animal that may never be finished, but one can dream!
The scale is roughly 2:1 of the real thing, so it is a bit more spacious than you would expect, assuming 1 block is 1 meter scale. It allowed for a lot more detail in the curvatures and other finer details to be noticed though, given we mostly only can go half block sized at smallest (not including miniatures we have on the server).
Noox! You exist!
I do!! I totally do!! My new job is great but sucks up all the creativity i have in a day, hence the disappearing act D: I'll get the itch soon again though Im sure!
I hope we'll get to see you soon! All of us who are still active from last July miss you dearly :D

So... When it's done the there's gonna be a party and a sudden iceberg? :D
Jokes aside, that's a massive build, props!
@TaylorSwiftsPickles Thank you for the AFK time, I have enough bone blocks now. Also, the bone block farm is not server restart stable, so I turned it off/on around the server restart for you. However, I do not recommend AFK'ing that farm overnight again.
Sadly life is currently busy elsewhere so I haven't yet put interfaces on any of it, but there's a bone block farm at my base that is both reload safe and technically doesn't need to be AFKed (it self loads when low). I think there's probably somewhere around 50 shulkers of bone blocks hanging out there.
The bone blocks in particular are just down a random shaft next to the closest of my farms to the Titanic. The general rule to not break anything is pretty simple: only take from chests that are hopper outputs, or just plop shulkers onto the hoppers that face into air. So if you need any more for whatever reason feel free.
It would probably be a good idea for me to just shove an inventory worth of bone block shulkers into community storage at some point. Someone else is welcome to do it if they want as I'm obviously not online much right now. Just look for the chest that only has shulkers of bone blocks and take however many. That chest isn't connected to anything. It's next to the bonemeal filter, but I was just manually putting full shulkers in there.
I totally forgot that you had a stockpile of bone blocks. I will try and remember that next time I need a large quantity.
I had a couple minutes and moved like 30 shulkers into community storage. I'd guess that isn't going to run out any time soon.
Thanks. I actually forgot I was afk there because I was really tired and fell asleep. From what I see, it is a little broken on one side, but I'll get around to fixing it tonight (EU). Shouldn't be too difficult but it's definitely my bad.
Mashallah, it's working again
I have been making really good progress on the basement of the mall. I am planning for underneath the general mall area to be a basement and underneath the theatre and food court will be underground parking. I will need to figure out at some point better access to the basement and underground parking besides just some scaffolding in a bathroom stall. My initial thoughts is to put a staircase in the loading dock for the basement side, and then as Gravy suggested to put a ramp down to parking behind the theatre. Logically for the public person connection from the parking to the mall is to use the south wall of the food court, but the Tildes logo looks really nice on that wall so I may have to get creative there
I've bumped into a problem. I spent too much time getting sucked into other games around the time the server got updated to 1.21.4 and now whenever I try to launch the game, it crashes. I probably missed any discussion from other people who were having this problem too.
I've fully uninstalled Minecraft and deleted the .minecraft folder, reinstalled and ran the 1.24.4 fabric installer and it still crashes, saying something about Java Binary not responding or something similar.
In doing some rough testing, I have confirmed that Minecraft does run fine without fabric, even on the server, but installing fabric causes the crash issue to return.
I've tried googling fixes and come up empty. Does anyone have any suggestions? I can play on the server without Fabric if I have to, but I would like to run Xaero's minimap and DH too....
Are all your mods updated to 1.24.4 as well? I use Fabric and had to update all my mods before it finally started working. DH had a recent update to make it compatible.
Even without any mods (just Fabric) installed, I launch the game and either it gets stuck on the red loading screen or, if I manage to get a game to load, it runs for about 30 seconds with rapidly increasing lag until the game crashes
In addition to what @Mendanbar said, make sure to update your java version as well. I seem to remember fabric upping the JDK requirement at some point.
It might be worth trying an alternate launcher. There were a lot of under the hood changes for 1.21.4 and it broke my favorite launcher (GD Launcher) for a while in a similar fashion. It's working now, but I switched to Prism launcher for a couple of months and that got me through.
I haven't been online in some time - both work and coursework have picked up recently and I haven't had much time to play survival.
However I have been working off-and-on and made progress on the stasis chamber system on my local Paper server. Here's a brief video showing the current stasis chamber:
Each unit has 16 chambers which can hold many ender pearls. Just throw a pearl straight up into the chamber, no special alignment needed. Two units can fit in one chunk, giving a maximum capacity of 32 players per network, but I would only build one unit for now.
Each chamber reports whether there are any pearls currently inside, unlike other designs which count how many pearls should be inside. Therefore if you die or log out, your pearl disappear and the light indicates this.
And here's a brief video with the last iteration of the wireless receiver.
Each receiver is individually addressed by the levers on green concrete.
The signal strength sent to each receiver is given by the levers on blue concrete.
However I am not happy with this iteration. I had seen Chronostasis Showcase and had the idea to use the signal strength system to identify the stasis chamber. However, since the wireless receiver I'm using is vertically oriented rather than horizontally oriented like in Chronostasis, I think it is better not to go to signal strength and instead just decode the binary signal directly.
It will be bulkier, but ultimately it will be cheaper to build in survival, as a vertical decoder is just a bunch of walls. You can see how this would fit in directly above the walls on the stasis chamber.
I don't have a video of it, but I also have a cute destination selector using an arrow in an item frame centered in a ring of 8 redstone lamps. As you right-click the arrow to rotate it, the lamp for the current destination illuminates and the destination signal is locked in. It's basically this idea but wrapped up into a circle. If rotating the arrow proves too tedious/slow, this button panel is a drop-in replacement that operates on basically the same principle.
So the usage will be: Rotate the arrow to the desired destination; walk to your stasis chamber; open a trap-door to reveal a button; press the button. Then, once you arrive, check that the lamp is still on in your chamber. If not, reload it by throwing some ender pearls upward.
