What really frustrates me is that there's like... three songs from Body Heat FM that I really like. Like, I'll sit in my car and wait for them to finish before murdering some dudes.

But they never play. It's always Ponpon Shit, or Hole in the Sun, or History. Like, all the time. I never hear anything else. I just went to look up the playlist and it says there's fifteen songs on Body Heat FM, but you'd never know it.

Is the LED back a gimmick? Yes. It is basically useless? Yes. But it's still a solid phone from a manufacturer who wants to do something a little different, and I'm all for supporting that.

Your post isn't noise, and I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I admit, assuming that people are lying on the internet is a cynical and selfish reaction. I've come across many people in my years that have ended up lying about pretty major things, things that I trusted them about. I struggle to get emotionally invested in people because I've been burnt so many times in the past.

And that's what these posters want - whether being truthful or lying, they want you to be emotionally invested in their story. I just don't have the mental energy to do it nowadays. I'm too tired, depressed, and burnt out.

I agree with you that forums can help people, if they're set up to do so properly. I honestly wish I'd had that kind of place to go when I was going through my worst times. It can be good to ask questions, get advice and support, and signposting to further information or professional help.

My issue is that a lot of the stories on reddit don't want that. Getting into specifics, this post was in TrueOffMyChest - so they aren't seeking help or opinions, or they'd have posted in a legal advice, relationship advice, or AITH sub. They're just there to have a vent. Everyone needs a vent from time to time, but with stuff like this, you're just spreading negative energy and upset to thousands, if not millions of people.

The people responding and upvoting those responses are also unhealthy - they're not helping, they're not offering any advice that isn't blindingly obvious in a situation like this. It's all "Oh, if it was me I'd have done XYZ", or insults towards the antagonist, which then just devolves into people patting each other on the back and agreeing how terrible this person must be, and sympathy for the poster. There's nobody helping, just people getting a good old torch-and-pitchfork mob together to feel good about themselves. They're not doing anything. They're just blasting emotion into the void.

And that's why fake posts get me really upset, because they're emotionally manipulating people so the poster can get some attention. A ton of red flags went off with the one I specifically mentioned, and I still believe it to be fake - including the very quick update to garner yet more points and sympathy. People just seem unable - or unwilling - to think critically and notice details that don't add up. It has all the hallmarks of a new fiction writer.

I should clarify, I try not to engage with posts like that. I don't seek them out, or reply to them. But with reddit's nosedive in quality, more and more show up on the main feed, and I do end up clicking on some of them out of habit.

I just think that if people want help, reddit isn't the place to go. Reddit is where people go for attention and validation, and liars are taking advantage of that.

I said in my first paragraph, it's so they can control the flow of players onto the servers. By sending invites out in waves, they know how many people are on, and the servers will be less strained by a "staggered launch" than just flinging the gates open and letting everyone in. Error Code 37 was a part of Diablo 3's awful launch, because the login servers were overloaded by people trying to play all at once - and then everyone began to hate the game because they couldn't log in.

It's this kind of forethought and care that makes me hopeful about the dev team. It's not about marketing, it's about making sure players have a good experience.

If I'm reading correctly, I think you misunderstand. The closed beta started on the 2nd, with invites going out in waves pretty much daily so they could control how many people join at a time. On the 10th, they'll start the open beta, where anyone can join - but it's still beta. They've had alphas and stress tests and such in the past too, open to select invited players.

Whilst they won't change anything in a week, they do seem to have their finger on the pulse of the discord - they're making channels specifically to get player feedback and see what's popular, and they're actually interacting with people there too. Bug reports are getting quickly noticed and responded to too - I put in one and a dev replied within a few minutes.

The game is solid for a beta, and once they're through the opening period, I'm looking forward to seeing where they go and what they add. For a free game, I've already had a lot of enjoyment out of it.

The rage posts and sympathy bait stories are something I really don't miss - especially as so many of them are made up, and don't even stand up to minor scrutiny. There's a post/update going around the main page at the moment that's cartoonishly fake, but people lap it up because they want to feel righteous, to feel like their hate against a fictional person means something.

As soon as a sub's population increases, the quality goes down. It's part of the reason I'm really happy about how Tildes grows.

But a lot of them are actually delicious. I make it a point to try the vegan food each time now, and I've never regretted it.

I've always struggled with being too brief in my writing, even since writing 500 word essays in school. Detail is definitely something I need to refine - I wrote a full first draft for a novel length story last year and it came in at about 47,000 words. I'm aiming to eventually be published traditionally, and I understand that a debut novel will be around 70-80k words, which means I just need to slow down a little and add more.

I imagine my first draft of this novel will be a similar length, but that's okay - the first draft is just telling the story to myself. As I revise it, I'll add more detail and descriptions, and then maybe I'll end up having to cut things out.

Thanks, haha. I tend to use the snowflake technique, so starting off with a broad story outline, then go over it again in more detail, and keep doing it until I get to the point I'm writing the novel. At the moment, I'm doing chapter outlines basically moment by moment - an outline ends up at about a thousand words. It makes the jump from outline to writing much less terrifying, haha.

I was playing Guild Wars 1 ages ago, preparing for GW2's release. I was going through Old Kaineng City, which was going through a significant plague problem, turning people into rage zombies. I had my team of heroes with me - some NPCs who were ritualists, necromancers, warriors, and the like.

One event had me come up and find a little girl being attacked by her parents. Horrified, I quickly moved in to help - killing the parents. I tried to talk to the girl, apologizing as she's in fits of tears over being attacked by her now dead parents.

My NPC necromancer cared little for this. Instead, right in front of the little girl, she automatically raised the two corpses as a horrific flesh golem, right in front of the kid.

I have never been so mortified over video game actions in my life.

No, the updates still do come out, but slowly and irregularly. The author injured his hand quite badly some time ago (there's a comic that makes fun of it) so it takes him a while to write and draw them. And I think they're also slow because they're well-written.

It's not abandoned, nor do I think it will be. Rich is writing a really good story, and I trust him to end it well.

So I have three main ones I'm reading at the moment - all webcomics. Most of the other stuff I read tends to be manga.

Wilde Life has already been mentioned, but I really can't recommend it enough. It's got awesome characters, good humour, and the art is gorgeous, especially the splash pages.

Go Get A Roomie is an NSFW (from the very beginning) comic about a hippie girl and her band of friends. It delves into relationships a lot, and there's a bunch of LGBTQ+ characters that get explored. It's good fun, but has also gotten me to think a lot about love and life, and definitions of both of them. It's currently on a re-release, updating Mon-Fri.

Order of the Stick is a super long running comic following a group of characters set in a world that runs on D&D 3.5. It starts off as a gag-a-day with plenty of jokes about the setting and rules, but quickly develops into a story with incredible depth and complex characters, whilst keeping the humour. It updates... uh... infrequently. But you'll have almost 1300 comics to go through before you're caught up.

Sure, let's see if I can figure out how to do spoilers here.

Spoilers for the end of the game

I lost a close friend twenty years ago. She basically just dropped dead at school from a brain aneurysm, nobody had any idea it was going to happen. Her death kicked off a lot of mental health problems for me, and I blamed myself a lot for not being there. It's been twenty years and I still think about her every day.

Lucas coming to terms with what happened and forgiving himself just enough to move on helped me. The final speech by Eleanor could have been spoken to me.

"Goodbye, my love. Whatever I am, I'm always here. Visit if you want. But don't stay too long. It's time to make new memories. Time to live the life you still have.

Time to move on, old man."

And I did. The thought of her doesn't consume me any more. I've been to therapy, I've managed to let go, a little. She's still a major part of my life, I don't think that will ever change. But... I can handle it in a healthier manner. I needed those words, before I could start the healing process. I've made progress.

The game isn't for everyone. It has its flaws, and if I had any idea how to code, I'd love to make a patch for it. I doubt it'll ever get a sequel, seeing how it did, and that Cavalier Games doesn't seem to be doing anything new. I reached out to the devs years ago to try to get larger versions of the artwork, because I wanted the portraits up in my home, but sadly they responded once and then didn't reply again.

But to me, it was the perfect game at the perfect time, and remains my heart and soul to this day.

It's a beautiful time travel murder mystery puzzle game, the soundtrack is incredible, the characters and setting are amazing, and the story is one that hit very close to home. I don't exaggerate when I say this game is my heart and soul. I've gifted it to over thirty people at this point.

As Mei, when you ult, try to put your wall up behind the enemy team - when they instinctively try to backpedal, they won't be able to escape.

As Echo, I never see people using beam well. It does ridiculous damage to anything under half health - this includes shields. Echo is an amazing tank melter.
