Yes, be happy that he's trying to fix it.
OK - but he is trying to fix a problem he created. So - as I said:
yes - of course we are happy that Trump has finally realized what the policy he put in place was horrible and, in spite of the fact that he said it was impossible for him to do so, he has reversed it - sort of. It is still not over.
We are happy for what we should be - the fact it is over. We are not happy for what we shouldn't be - Trump doing something "good" when it was a situation of his own making. I don't praise my kids cleaning up a mess they purposefully made.
    You said:
    He can't undo the past
He sort of can - at least he can make as right as possible the situation that he made. That is - he can stop separating families and get all those that he already has back together. That is all we asking.

Trump will praise from me when Trump deserves praise. He doesn't here so he won't.

But to only look at his bad actions, and spin all his (relatively) good actions into more bad actions is not the way to go about it.

That is not what is happening here. You are either presenting a straw man or simply wrong. In the case we are talking about - he does not deserve praise - so none is being given by "us". If you truly want to discuss - then provide other examples of where he actually deserves praise and we can discuss and debate the relative merits of those. This is not such a case. So - provide examples or move on.

The hostility you (probably rightly) feel from crius is probably the same I feel reading your comments. Either you are a troll and your question comes off as begging people to agree that the order is "good" and will actually keep families together - which, as has been pointed out will likely not be the case - or you are not a troll and are simply ignorant of the facts. Considering how actively you are posting here, you are obviously will to invest time in this subject. Considering that, it seems more likely the former is true - you are a troll - since investing a little time in googling would have told you what crius already know - such as what Flores is about and how this is likely to play out. That said, perhaps you are simply ignorant and my (and perhaps crius') reaction to you is wrong. I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

If so, then - yes - of course we are happy that Trump has finally realized what the policy he put in place was horrible and, in spite of the fact that he said it was impossible for him to do so, he has reversed it - sort of. It is still not over. There are still 2000+ children that have been separated from their parents that need to be reunited. So - that's where "we" stand.

I had similar problems... I asked everyone I knew that had already done Lasik what they thought. Most said something along the lines of "Best money I ever spent!" Having polled at least 30 people, I heard no negative feedback. I went to the high end Lasik provider. I went from not needing readers to needing readers (and, yes, I read the warnings on that) - which is not correctable (for me) with contacts. So - I went from the convenience of contacts to now being required to the much less convenient wearing glasses much of the time. But that is not the worst part...

The worst part was - starting about 4 days after the surgery, when I would wake up in the morning my cornea would be stuck to my eyelid and, with just reflexive opening of my eyes (as one does in the mornings), I would rip a tiny piece of my cornea off. In case you are wondering - there are a LOT of nerve endings in the cornea (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornea#Nerve_supply), so this feels much like I would imagine sticking a needle in your eye would. The first time, I had the lidocaine eye drops - which was awesome because then I only had to feel the searing pain for a few seconds until I found the drops. However, upon rushing to the Doctor, he tells me if it happens again, I should not use the drops because they stifle healing.

Well, as you might guess, it happened again - and this time NO LIDOCAINE DROPS. Just saline, which I would do profusely for a good hour until the pain subsided. Aside from a couple of broken ribs a year prior and being stung by a Tarantula Hawk - this was the worst pain I have ever felt.

As you might also guess - it did not happen just twice. After the third time, the doctor decided it best to scrape my cornea to let it "start over". Well - I went through this same scenario for 3 months with 3 separate cornea scrapings before (for whatever reason) it finally stopped.

    You have been warned...

I started out on Patreon with just $1 per month pre-invitation, but just upped it to $10 based solely on the initial content of the alpha users. As someone who remembers the early days of the Internet - and even back to BBSs - there is so much that has gone fundamentally wrong - amongst the many improvements. I really want Tildes to succeed - so my plan is to start off on Patreon at a fairly reasonable level for me ($10/month) considering the currently limited content, see where it goes and increase or decrease accordingly. I'd rather start off higher than it's currently worth in order to help ensure its success. I think Patreon's service charge is probably a bit high - but I believe there needs to be a service out there like Patreon and they seem best (if not only). The main criticism I have with Patreon is the lack of a clear ban policies and procedures - which could lead to issues we have seen before (need I list some?)...
