Nobody should be compelled to associate with one another. But some associations also act as gatekeepers to the practice of certain professions. It seems a little excessive this association trying to control the way Jordan Peterson expresses himself on social media. Besides, his most controversial posts on social media is more on philosophical topics than psicological topics, the latter which the association that's persecuting him supposedly regulates.

Yeah, I read a lot of contradicting information about whether browser password managers are significantly less secure than dedicated ones or not. But as I read reports that the most popular of dedicated ones was breached easily (LastPass), I wonder if using one that has fewer users (Firefox Sync) may prove more efficient in evading the interest of hacking groups.

I alredy knew about this little tool, but I used it mostly to bypass Twitter's javascript bloat. Considering Twitter's new API policy is phohibitely expensive (even more than Reddit's), I'm impressed this site's creator managed to bypass the login prompt. If that's due to a programming oversight on Twitter page, I expect this loophole to be closed sooner or later.

Gaming emulators are another niche I find interesting to read about, but as it is very closely related to retro games, It's best to postpone the creation of a group just for this.

During the long period of time that Netflix was basically the only game in town, people tend to have fonder memories because Netflix was cheaper and they got the license to a lot of content from other companies.

Nowadays, the Netflix that we have is the one that rises prices, forbids password sharing, cancel their series after 1-2 seasons without a satisfying conclusion, etc. On every aspect, the multiplication of streaming services offered no obvious advantages to the consumer.

When current Netflix streaming rivals didn't have their own streaming platform, the only thing they could do is license their content to Netflix. As they competed against it other for the privilege, Netflix got a lot of good content for cheap.

Now that everyone has their own streaming app, they have some leverage in price negotiations. If they can't license it out, they can at least keep it in-house to strengthen their app. And now that some shows are being pulled simply to avoid paying royalties to the content creators, that's another factor they have to consider in the formula for profitability.

If your PC could run games released around the 7th generation of consoles it would be graet, because around that time certain standards such as Xinput and DirectX9+ became solidified, reducing the odds of some annoying game compatibility issues. But as that's not the case, I'd stick with emulation in general, and 2D indie titles (metroidvanias are great).

Unfortunately many PC games from the 6th console generation era are sub-par ports, and a considerable number of them is abandonware these days (=not avaiable through legal stores).

English not being my native language, I'd rather use this oportunity to practice my output. The Tildes community is still too small to expand to multiple languages, especially as there's only one true "mod" around. As much as I appreciate the "everyone is a mod" philosophy, I think more mods will eventually be necessary for some manual stuff.

Any (non-action)RPG and Adventure game will fullfil your criteria. I tend to like Japanese RPGs like the Final Fantasy series. As for Adventure games I'm not too familiar with them, but they were more commonly produced in the 90s, so you may need to go retro for the best ones.
Strategy games are also good, but only the turn-based ones. Some games of this genre overlap with RPG and Visual Novels (Fire Emblem series).

The current Reddit situation is a nice example. Everyone knows it's downright wrong making API access so prohibitively expensive that it locks out all 3rd party apps. This by itself evokes strong opinions from redditors. But that's just the first layer of the outrage. The second layer is when Reddit's admins attempt to pretend this was not their intention, and blaming the Apollo dev of things he didn't do (he showed receipts). Of course this layer and other layers like the AMA increasingly makes people emotional and combative. And it's allright to be that way if the situation warrants it. That's just what humans do. As long people abstain from crossing certain lines of good coexistence, being outraged is fine and shouldn't by itself be phohibited.
