I do like Studio 4°C's older stuff like Tekkonkinkreet and Mind Game and then kind of got out of touch.
But I'm looking forward to watching their stuff again!

The most I trust myself to do is, Check for danger. Approach the casualty and tap them on the shoulder and ask "Hello hello, are you okay?" And then yell at someone to call an ambulance and then yell at someone else to get an AED.
My friend was trying to remember the song you can do CPR to. And she hummed the tune to Final Countdown. I found that hilarious.

It's an interesting read and especially relevant now. There were many things about the effects of meritocracy that I didn't consider before reading this.

So I very much prefer the Utopia of TNG. I'd be a regular citizen. Or maybe someone on some boring research station.
Being on the Enterprise itself would result in multiple unresolved traumas.
And being on Voyager would result in abandoned lizard babies.

I'm also in the middle of painting a small bird.
I'm also still working on my Elephant sculpt. Although I mutilated it recently and cut it in half because I wanted to put a wire frame in it. So it's a little hard to get back to it because I've lost progress.

I might steal that idea and try going home on a different route once a week.
It's easy for me to get in a rut too. I'm a creature of habit and am capable of doing the same thing everyday. I also end up never leaving my apartment for days. So just getting out there and seeing things is good for me.
I don't know how good my painting will be! If it turns out decent, I don't mind sharing!
You can share what you end up making when you get inspired too. I'm curious! If you want to that is.

Art wise.
So I've been putting aside one day a week to go somewhere interesting or different alone. It doesn't have to be specifically art. It can be museums about the war. Or explore a particular hidden passage people don't know about. Going hiking counts too.
The most recent one I went to was on a whim. I just looked at Google maps for the nearest art galleries around and went to the closest one that seemed interesting.
It was fun. I met the owner of the gallery and had a nice chat with him. Talked about art got inspired by some of the art. They was a lot of mixed mediums going on and I loved that.
Afterwards, I bought a medium sized canvas to paint on because I want to try paint bigger! Like all those artworks I saw!
I'm going to do it! If it goes well, I'll go even bigger! BIGGER!

I started studying things whenever I was walking somewhere or waiting. Or pretending I would be painting it and studying to figure out how I would do it.
Somehow my painting got better after that. I also had a gap where I didn't paint for a while.
So when I did finally paint and found out I was better, it was motivating and helped me paint more often.

I should have just used foil from the very beginning!

My go to supplies has been sculpey and my hot glue gun! Acrylic paint too. I'm making a few different things so I'm also rotating between different tools.
• What have you tried for the very first time?
My hot glue gun. I didn't know you could sculpt with hot glue and I tried it out and it felt like I was 3D printing. I made a lava wave and it turned out better than I thought it would.
I also played with Resin for the first time. While it was fun, I can't really do more of it because I've got a very needy cat. She keeps asking for attention while I'm stirring and pouring resin.
I also built a big fantasy tree. And the challenge was that I had to use materials I already had or things I didn't have to pay for. So the foliage was made out of blended sponges and I went out hunting for some twigs to add to the branches.
• Have you returned to using something you haven't touched in a long while?
My acrylic paints! I used to paint with acrylic for a fair bit but I stopped for a while. But making all these craft stuff has gotten me back to painting.
• Have you been pleasantly surprised by something?
My hot glue gun can sculpt!
• Has something disappointed you?
Not really. I don't think so at least. Making crafts was a lot of trial and error for me. Whatever failed versions I had didn't count as disappointments. Just more data for my next iteration.
Okay yeah no. I have one. I tried painting a galaxy and that went badly. I don't think I'm skilled enough for it yet.
• Was there something you dreamed about making art with, but couldn't get for some reason?
Not that I can think of right now. I live in an area where things are pretty accessible.
Does playing with my cat count?
I also play Spelling bee to relax.
But I do have several projects going at once. I do them after work if I can.
I usually have very little energy after work and do literally nothing. I don't even scroll through social media. I just lie there. It helps that the cat comes to snuggle sometimes.
But I've been trying to get myself to do a small amount of any of my projects after work. So it's a struggle but sometimes I manage to do it.
