If you'd like to fully customize how you interact with your phone then Nova Launcher is the go to. Some people utilize Nova to get closer to the "stock" Android experience if they are using models that aren't Google's Pixel/Nexus line of phones. Others like to "theme" their phone so all of the icons are similar like this.

That being said, if you think it's unnecessary that's because it is. No harm in trying it out though! That's one of the best Android features - the customization.

I always told myself I'd never pay for news but in this day and age I'm happy to be a NYT subscriber. We need to support independent and trustworthy news outlets that can cut through the massive propaganda that is infiltrating all aspects of our online experiences. If you can afford to spend less than the cost of a lunch a month, you should seriously think about buying the basic subscription to the New York Times.

That's because I'm speaking about higher up in the criminal organizations. Sure there is the local guy who grows on his farm but the Mexican cartels are still dealing in large quantities. Point is that it should be legal. Laws are always going to be used to oppress people but we shouldn't keep a literal plant illegal because of that.

At present it is estimated that marijuana’s LD-50 is around1:20,000 or 1:40,000. In layman terms this means that in order to induce death a marijuana smoker would have to consume 20,000 to 40,000 times as much marijuana as is contained in one marijuana cigarette. NIDA-supplied marijuana cigarettes weigh approximately .9 grams. A smoker would theoretically have to consume nearly 1,500 pounds of marijuana within about fifteen minutes to induce a lethal response.

From the limited research I've read, Kavanaugh seems to be a "normal" candidate for a republican president to have nominated. For instance if Mitt Romney was president Kavanaugh could have been his choice. I am in no way pleased with this decision but at this point we have to thank the FSM it wasn't worse.

For as much as the media has made Roe v. Wade the major issue surrounding this pick, I don't see how it could be overturned any easier than it would have been back in the late 1980s.

It sailed long before Snowden but many didn't understand the scope. Even after Snowden's revelations the majority of the citizenry doesn't grasp the concept "if the product is free, you are the product". The recent outrage over the ability of developers to potentially read emails stored in your gmail account show there is still much to teach the public. For example:

Navideh Forghani, 34 years old, of Phoenix, signed up this year for Earny Inc., a tool that compares receipts in inboxes to prices across the web. When Earny finds a better price for items its users purchase, it automatically contacts the sellers and obtains refunds for the difference, which it shares with the users.

Earny had a partnership with Return Path, which connected its computer scanners to Ms. Forghani’s email and began collecting and processing all of the new messages that arrived in her inbox. Ms. Forghani says she didn’t read Earny’s privacy policy closely and has never heard of Return Path. “It is definitely concerning,” she says of the information collection."

How is it possible for someone to not understand the literal description of the service requires the ability of the application to read your emails??

I would listen to an argument about changing the practice such that servers were paid fairly to begin with, but in the US that simply isn't the case.

This is a truly unique problem for the US. Many places in Europe do not have tipping in the same sense the US does. I have never experienced poor service because a server isn't "working" for a tip when traveling in Europe. The waiter simply does their job. The US food service industry should be required by law to pay their workers minimum wage (before tips). Tipping should be for service that goes above and beyond the "normal". I shouldn't have to subsidize a servers income because the management/owners refuse to pay what all other jobs are required to.

That being said, I still tip waiters appropriately but only because I know that their hourly rate is only ~2/hour and so I feel obligated to "do the right thing". Unfortunately the culture is so ingrained I doubt it will change before robots take over...
