I'm willing to bet that Rockstar won't publicly release the fully functional Linux version they created, because they're too lazy to support the myriad of configurations Linux users use, and because their launcher is exclusive to Windows.

I'd love to be proven wrong, but unfortunately that's the kind of stuff Rockstar does.

Passwords: 1Password. They sadly don't have a Linux app but they do have a Linux command line version and their web version works fine.

Browser: Firefox. Google is attacking the openness of the web by inventing new features, putting them in Chrome, submitting an RFC, and then saying they have the "latest support for web standards" as an excuse to shut out non-Chrome users. I don't support that.

    Torrents: Transmission

Text editing: VS Code and BBEdit, and occasionally Vim when I'm on SSH but I can never remember the keyboard shortcuts.

Messaging: iMessage for talking to family, Discord for friends. I hate the Discord app because it's Electron (disgusting) but their service is pretty good.

Shell: zsh with the Powerlevel9k theme.

Video: IINA on Mac, VLC and sometimes MPV on Ubuntu

Cloud: iCloud for my stuff, MEGA free account for public files

Mail: Boring old Mail.app, it works

If they didn't hype up Adam at Comic-Con it would've been fine. If they had just not showed him again after the initial scene the backlash probably would've been smaller. But them hyping up this new character, barely developing him, and then just killing him felt like he only existed for marketing. Honestly, I feel like DreamWorks probably interfered with the storyline somehow, and Adam was supposed to be more significant, because this character arc was just so suddenly cut short.

I don't feel like you should have to "earn" an invite here. Tildes should allow as many users as its moderation system is able to support, instead of making invites scarce to create a superiority complex so that only people who "deserve" an invite can get one. You shouldn't have to prove that you're worthy of getting an invite, all that does is create an echo chamber.

Yeah, it really sucks how "dumb" TVs are basically nonexistent at this point. I don't want my TV to have a shitty built-in processor to run Android, I just want it to display video from an input.

I've never understood smart TVs in general. Why would you want a TV that has built-in software you can't control that is connected to the internet, capable of tracking what you do, and far worse than just plugging in a separate box that does streaming better? It would be cheaper anyway for companies to just not include "smart" features in their TVs, and just let the customers buy separate hardware.

Well yeah, Reddit now allows you to post to your profile, which you can freely moderate. Which was obviously implemented specifically for this purpose.

Reddit still has that issue. If you comment on a popular post that's at least 6 hours old it's highly unlikely you'll get more than a couple upvotes.

Content ID is already incredibly terrible, and applying something like it to the whole internet is an incredibly stupid idea. This totally ignores the principles of fair use and basically forces websites to assume any copyrighted file is infringing on someone's rights and hold it for review. And this also makes it pretty much impossible for small sites that allow user-generated content to operate in the EU, because they don't have the funds to create or license auto copyright claiming technology. Hopefully it doesn't pass.

Voting for something on Tildes is generally supposed to mean "this is quality content", and I don't think a disagree button would function well as a comparison because it isn't the opposite of a vote button; the vote button isn't an agree button, and IMO it should be used on everything that is well written/researched, not just things you agree with. I also don't think you should need to explain to someone why their comment was well written, although if you want to, you can always do that by replying. I agree with you that it would be useful as a poll-type thing to see how many people disagree with something, but without an agree button counterpart it wouldn't make much sense, and I feel like some people would use it as an alternative to replying.
