I just finished reading The Rose Code and am now reading Room.

Both are pretty good. The Rose Code is another side of the story related to Turings Enigma machine and the women who worked in Bletchley Park. Really interesting read. Slow burn at the beginning but when it picks up it goes faaast.

Room is very good so far. I think it's gonna be one of those books that I'll be sad about it being over. I can't even imagine how someone could get into the headspace to write something like this, especially through the eyes of a child.

I'm on that same path kind of. I still haven't bought Repentance. I said that I'd wait until I got platinum god before I purchase Repentance. I have to pick up 4 more items, one of them being broken modem, which I still have to unlock. I have all the marks and have completed all the challenges. I'm so close I can taste it.

I get really into it for a month or so and then I stop playing for multiple months. That game is hard if you're a completionist. I've been playing since flash isaac. Good luck my friend.

First thing that came to mind was Denpa Shonen Nasubi Prize Life. It's tough to describe without watching it, but essentially it's a messed up reality show from Japan in the early 2000's where a guy has to survive only on prize winnings from magazines. He's shut in to a small, empty apartment with nothing but a pen, a table, and a bunch of magazines. They go so far as to strip him naked, and live stream him 24/7 for over a year, where he can't leave until he earns a certain amount of winnings from magazines.

    Part 1
    Part 2

You see the complete disintegration of a humans mental and physical well being over the course of the show. It's nuts. Certainly worth a watch if you wanna see a "psychological study" on the scale of the stanford prison experiment in a semi modern age, fully documented on film.

I hope it's this guy who replaces Roiland. Apparently he was already talking with Roiland before the allegations about being on the show and even had Roiland coaching him on his impression(s). I get what they did with solar opposites, but I really hope they try and find someone with a similar sounding voice for Rick and Morty. I know it could be explained away, but it would be extremely jarring in my opinion.

Edit: I just found this video of his from last month where he recorded his voice over a clip of Rick and Morty, and I'm willing to bet that if you weren't told, you could never tell. It would be an absolute travesty if they don't use this guy...

I got the LG g8x thinQ a number of years ago for free with a contract. It's a dual screen phone where you can take the dual screen off if you don't wanna use it. I got it because I figured if I didn't like the dual screen, I could just take it off and not use it.

I fell in love with the dual screen and never took it off. It is/was a powerhouse of productivity and multitasking. When that phone reached the end of its life, I was looking for alternatives, but there wasn't really anything out there except for the z fold phones and a Microsoft dual screen foldable. I decided to bite the bullet and get the z fold 4. Thankfully I got a very sizable discount by pre-ordering it and working for an isp that sells cell phones. It was still pricey, but for the amount of time I spend on my phone, I feel like it's more than worth it. I love this phone. It's even better than the lg g8x in almost every conceivable way, its powerful, has a big screen for watching YouTube or playing games. The multitasking ability is crazy, I can basically have a portable pc if I connect it to a wireless keyboard and mouse and connect to my windows 10 server through teamviewer. I hope that foldables like this catch on. I think it was very smart of samsung to come out with a foldable flip phone alongside the foldable tablet style phone to get people into the market for foldable phones. I almost guarantee anyone who gets a foldable phone will not want to go back to a regular phone after.

I'm wondering how to read this book. I'm about 2 chapters in, and I've read all of these footnotes/references to other material at the bottom of the page. So far, they basically mean nothing to me, and I think it was implied during the introduction that some of the footnotes are real and some of them are fake? Do they reference other parts of the book? Am I supposed to be flipping somewhere else in the book every time a footnote refences something? Or should I be going outside of the book to hunt down the references to read those? Is it worth it to try that if some are fake and some are real? Is there a wrong way to read this book? Can those footnotes/references be ignored sometimes or most of the time? Am I overthinking this and I should just keep reading normally without thinking about the footnotes?

All this reddit news just makes me sad. Many years ago, I used to look at reddit as a diamond in the rough. Sad to see what's happening to it. What's even sadder is in the back of my head I think I know that he's probably right. The internet has a short attention span, and their upset rage will pass. Even if 75% of the users left, you would still have enough people on the platform to regrow and continue. And once the internet mostly forgets about this, he'll be set up with a platform that is able to make the company more money than it was able to before. I feel defeated... I loved my third party app.. :(

In Canada I got 6 weeks off (topped up from the government, without taking any time away from my wifes top-up) and I took an extra week after as vacation time. I can't imagine going back any sooner than I did. My wife was able to take a year off, but man oh man. Those first few months are just... something else... take as much time as you possibly can. I don't know how single mothers can do it. It was a two person job for at least those first six weeks, and I could argue that it's a two person job for the first three months at least. I know the transition of me going back to work was tough on my wife. She got used to me helping in the middle of the nights so she could get a few extra hours of sleep, but I couldn't feasibly do that anymore and still function at work when I went back, so it all fell on her. Don't get me wrong, I was so happy to be there for those precious moments, but it's thankless, sleepless, non-stop around the clock work. Damn kid is worth it though. Makes me so happy.

Your adventure with The Meloncholy of Haruhi Suzumiya sounds almost exactly like mine haha. I watched it in high school when only season 1 was out, then during the pandemic decided to rewatched it, but to my delight there were more episodes and a movie, so I watched those.

Definitely check out FLCL. You won't regret it. Might be one of the best English dubs I've ever seen as well. I know some people will die on the hill that subs are better or whatever, but if a dub is good enough, I prefer it.

If you liked one punch man, I would definitely reccomend watching Mob Psycho 100. Same animation studio as s1 of one punch man, based on a manga made by the creator of one punch man. Super good as well. One of the episodes has the best setup and punchline to a joke I've ever seen in any medium.

The Meloncholy of Haruhi Suzumiya would probably come in second place for me.

One Punch Man season 1 would probably come in third, but I could be convinced to put something else in that spot I'm sure.
