Comment on Has sexual content invaded too much of the internet? in ~tech

I don’t know how you use the internet, but the way I use it, I don’t come across porn unless I intend to come across porn. And believe me, I intend to come across porn every now and again.

I have other privacy focused messaging apps I use now such as Threema and Signal, but 99% of people where I live, including companies, schools and government use it to communicate and that leaves it impossible for me to avoid.

dani Very nice indeed. The best thing for me is the large selection of text sizes that go nice and big. I don’t know if that’s because the podcasts I listen to are hosted on Podbean and they don’t choose to give a complete archive elsewhere or not, but it works for me. I like it.

Strictly just interacted with Reddit directly via the very few subreddits I was subscribed to, and only through a third party app. Because that was the only way to keep the noise on minimum for me (I really don’t like noise). A lot of unintentional past tense I notice typing this out.
In contrast, I really quite like seeing the Tildes “all” and have found some interesting things to read because of it. -

I really like, for example, all the old (and not-so-old), incomplete and lofi Bob Dylan bootleg recordings and miscellanea that are out there, and I wouldn’t personally be interested in those being AI’d and polished up/finished off.

I used it for a long time and then had a terrible time getting 1000+ notes out when I wanted to. I sort of managed it with a 3rd party app on the desktop (I forget the name), but it wasn’t a trouble free process and I don’t think I’d go back now unless Apple added bulk export.

But I’m making up for lost time now and I rely on the “percentage confidence” rating these apps give to help me. It gets difficult when there are many very closely related types returned (I had no idea there were so many different types of Mulberry tree), so it’s always useful too when someone on the network confirms or corrects the identification.

I wonder if there is something further at issue with passwords - perhaps password length is an issue? I use a password manager and my password for the site is really long. I can log in fine on the website (obviously), but perhaps the length is causing an issue in the app?
Maybe I should just test it by changing my password. -

I flip between both because sometimes I get what I feel are more accurate identifications with one app or the other (probably just depending on how well they handle my bad photo taking).

Sorry to hear that. Loved Candyman. Never saw him in anything else.
