eggy LinkBy all means I am still a young adult. However as I now teach middle and high school children I feel I have picked up on some wisdoms that are especially applicable to younger people. Sometimes...By all means I am still a young adult. However as I now teach middle and high school children I feel I have picked up on some wisdoms that are especially applicable to younger people.
- Sometimes you gotta do it bored, it sucks, but you gotta do it
- You have to basically choose between wasting your life away, or embarrass yourself every so often
- dont ponder yourself into stagnation
- stay curious about the world around you.
- (i say this as someone in my 20's) 30 is still so incredibly young, don't let the passage of time scare you!
- there is no secret, you have to feel discomfort and still do it

eggy LinkI work at a school, the two biggest frustrations I have that aren't like structural with education broadly, for some reason we don't like plan things out in advance. So even though we did...I work at a school, the two biggest frustrations I have that aren't like structural with education broadly, for some reason we don't like plan things out in advance. So even though we did something last year, we wait till like a week before to start planning it again. When I suggest we just give up some days in summer to get everything set so we never have to worry about it again they look at me like im insane. The other one, if it will surprise you, is that many of my coworkers act like actual children, its a problem especially with the high school teachers (im primarily middle school). They act very cliquey, they're bullies, and overall they just don't do a lot of critical thinking. It is insane to see in person.

eggy LinkIt took me a while to come around to it, but I have really been enjoying Cibo Motto's Stereotype A. It took a lot of getting used to, but now I can't turn it off. eggy LinkA while ago I read Otoyomegatari (or A Bride's Tail) and it was insanely good. I think that would be my favorite. It follows a few couples in 19th century central Asia. The author spent and spends...A while ago I read Otoyomegatari (or A Bride's Tail) and it was insanely good. I think that would be my favorite. It follows a few couples in 19th century central Asia. The author spent and spends a lot of time researching and traveling for research to portray things accurately and it ends up being so beautiful. The story itself is also really good and fun.
I have also been reading (and now watching!) A Witch's Life in Mongol which completely coincidentally also takes place on and around the steppe (I swear i arrived at both in separate ways!) which follows a learned servant moving around the Mongol empire and trying to return home. It is really good and I think the art style is so unique and pretty. The animation just came out recently and is also beautiful.
Lastly I couldn't wait for the anime (and Netflix killed the fun of watching it imo) so I read parts six and seven (heh) of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and I am not reading part 8 Jojolion, they're all quite good. I like them a lot more than previous parts, though I am thinking maybe now I should read them as well.
Would love any suggestions anyone has, I hither too now didn't do a whole lot of manga reading. When I was younger I enjoyed Yotsuba, and Nichijou!

It is still a lot of people, as is the 4 million mentioned on billibilli (~330m users). That's all I can really see because its paywalled, but it is unimpressive to me. Also I question whether China would just willingly send men to die. That seems like completely out of left field. A cursory glance into Chinese elderly care reveals it is a policy priority and are pumping funding into it.Obviously none of this address the very real problem of misogyny which I certainly don't doubt still occurs in China, in the same vein I don't doubt China is suffering from their own version of the manosphere. I do think they are better suited to handle it than we in the states are.
I find that most everything from The Economist has to be taken with a heavy grain of salt these days.

It is really only meant for .epub files. With that being said I know there are extensions to turn webpages into .epubs, as well as converting word docs. I am pretty sure you can also connect to it via terminal using curl and webhooks, so it should be pretty scriptable.
It is very small scope, the x4 at least is an esp32 based system. However I quite enjoy mine, I have read a lot more because of it. It works exceptionally well with books that have smaller chapters imo.

eggy LinkI've been reading by the Book of Goose by Yiyuan Li. I was very much surprised its very very good! I can't put it down and when I must, all I can think about is getting back to reading! To add a little more, a while ago I got an XTEINK mini e-reader and I haven't read this many books in this short a time since I was much younger. Wondering/hoping having a dedicated music ,listening device will do the same for music (I hardly listen to new music even though I really want to!!) -

Hey all, I'm looking for some recommendations for mp3 players. Specifically though I'm looking for two different recommendations. I have a seventh grader I teach who is really interested in getting started with mp3 files (that she has yet to acquire), so a cheaper device if possible. I, on the other hand, have a solid yet growing collection of FLAC files I would love to listen to not on my phone, so I'm willing to splurge a little more for this. I tried searching tildes for it but couldn't find anything that suit my need. I know about the tangara (I think thats how it is spelled?) but I can't seem to find if I can even buy it anymore :/ Thanks!!!

eggy LinkIn college I worked for our schools makerspace. I was I guess really good at my job, so I got all the cool projects to work on. My boss was incredibly chill and the work culture was really...In college I worked for our schools makerspace. I was I guess really good at my job, so I got all the cool projects to work on. My boss was incredibly chill and the work culture was really relaxed. I got to mess around a lot, and my silliness was all but encouraged. It was really fun and paid relatively well, especially when i was promoted to student supervisor. I got to help my boss with a lot of crazy projects, laser cutting, CNC milling, working with patrons in 1on1 sessions, all the while I could have fun. My former boss basically offered me their job as they were promoted, but I don't think I can give up teaching now. I basically would fill up on as many hours possible, because half the time I just got to mess around on my laptop. It was so much fun actually 10/10 if u are in college, try and work for the makerspace!!

I am a big fan of the shade garden, and of course the Japanese Garden as well. If you have kids it is an even better stop as the childrens garden is one of the coolest
I do think that One Step From Eden might be the only game that got me playing quite as much as slay the spire did. It is soooo good, they also have a (free I think) online battle platform. I didn't realize how much I liked Megaman Battle Network style gameplay until I played OSFE.
