Framework does make it so I haven't thought about buying a laptop in a really long time (other than a different sized framework model haha), but hey if it's gets the job done it gets the job done! :) -

I know hyprland just updated its trackpad gesture configuration which seems like it'll be really nice at increasing the functionality of it so def check that out. Let me know if you have any other questions!

The biggest downside I have is the battery life is not as nice as something from a Macbook, which I don't know how fair the comparison is. I really enjoy the trackpad, I have a lot of problems with non-apple trackpads, but I can't say I have any of those with Framework's trackpad. The battery life on my framework isn't even that bad, especially with GaN chargers making 100w "cheap".
The ability to switch out the modules (usb stuff, I can't think of the words) is handy, but not very different from having a dongle. I usually just have a set few that I use (usually three usb c, and one usb a, though recently I've switched out a usb c for an hdmi) though having them with me (especially ethernet) has been very useful. While I haven't had to, I do genuinely feel much better knowing if something breaks I can easily replace it.
My use case is very general. I play light games on it, use word processing and similar software (onlyoffice, and libreoffice). I run nixos w hyprland on it and the processor keeps up with everything even when i have upwards of 7 workspaces open (i usually have at least 3 browser windows open, though most tabs get unloaded from ram). The keyboard is nice and fits my use cases.
I really do recommend the framework, especially if you are willing to pay the premium. I've been seriously considering picking up a 12 inch, because sometimes I don't need the full size and specs of my 13 inch, and I like the idea of a touchscreen.
I hope this answered some of your questions, let me know if you want to know anything else!

I obviously ran into the same problem you mentioned, but I was wondering if maybe it could work like you submit your whole turn, and then your opponent can respond point by point and it would send it back. I think that still wouldn't be super fun, and almost require it's own client, but I just really want to play more magic with the little time I have available :(
I am going to check out Codex though that sounds cool

It is one of the if not the greatest game of all time. Not that I support supporting the developers (long story short the people behind the game got cheated out of the rights, support the studio za/um as little as possible).
It is a detective game set in an alternate universe (there are many similarities between our world, and the world of elysium, you should not read too hard into them), where you lost your memory and have to solve a murder case.
The game features almost no violence however, and instead consists almost entirely of talking to other people. The game boasts over 1 million words, and is basically just a book. BUT it is fully voice acted, and masterfully done.

Though I don't work in a related field my friend does and he tells me that all his coworkers and him are watching CSB and keeping up with what they put out. The CSB videos are always full of comments from people who work with industrial chemicals saying how helpful the CSB is. Shame :( hopefully it works out!

(bear in mind i only read the tldr), hoping that legends z:a or whatever its called might pull me back in but dang, it all just felt so slow, and my memories of having really strong pokemon in previous gens also didn't help as I find myself frustrated by having to use the same boring move over and over again. I really like Pokemon as a franchise, and I still think even the newer designs are very well done. It's just the game doesn't really feel like its for me anymore and thats okay!!

She's almost retired (a year and a half left I think) so I am pretty confident that no one will beat me. It's not anything real but for my imposter syndrome it was a crazy high I still haven't come down from.

Your typical paradigm will be Marx v Weber v Durkheim in terms of you look at things (all three men are social theorists), DuBois also pops up a lot especially if you want to bring race into the matter at all. Me specifically though I want to bring in french theorist Bourdieu, and his field theory to help educate teachers on how to navigate the classroom, bearing in mind that teachers have a tremendous amount of power over their students. I think its really important that teacher candidates have a strong understanding of power dynamics (of which I got through my education in social theory), so that they don't end up harming their students more than they are helping. Hope that makes sense! Feel free to dm if u have any questions, this was kind of a rushed comment :D

A while now!!! Before the reddit purge! I don't post a wholeee lot, but trust I am peruse most topics! I was exploring the small net, chilling in an irc channel at tilde.club when someone mentioned this site. I browsed around for a while and they gave me an invite!
How did you choose your username?
Thought it was funny tbh, surprisingly too it don't get used often
What are your interests?
I like tech stuff that is geared towards hobbyists. I really like self hosting, and really really like NixOS, both of which I am not great at!! I don't have any formal education or training, I don't work in the tech field, I just really like tech! I am an enjoyer of social theory by education, and a teacher for work all of which I enjoy talking about!
A/S/L (age/(gender|pronouns|identifier)/location)
23, they/them, great lakes basin area >:3
What do you do? This could be in your spare time, for work, your passions.
Oops answered this earlier hehe. In my spare time I tinker on tech for sureee, for work I teach social studies secondary, and my passions are social theory!!! I hope to utilize my social theory knowledge to impact teacher education, but much work to do there still hehe.
Do you want other users to PM/DM you from this thread?
If ya like :D
Give us a fun fact (or a link!)! If there is anything to know about tilderinos, it's that we value knowledge sharing!
Shameless plug to my silly NixOS repo!!! I will explain any part if you're curious! -

That's a good idea honestly, i'll talk to my admin. I totally agree, and further agree that neal.fun is a much better site for students to be messing around on (i was doing the exact same thing in college so i'd feel a bit hypocritical saying anything otherwise). I wish my admin would ease up on the blocklists and instead push teachers to better manage when students are using their chromebooks. I think i can overwrite the blocklist during my class so maybe I'll see if neal.fun can be unblocked for my class 😸
