Its involuntary when it happens to me, I'd imagine others are similar.

I was part of a forum once that did something similar to what i'm saying, except they were daily polls and everyone really enjoyed them.
Thinking about this a bit more tho, I think topical polls could work just as well, maybe even better since users can not only vote, but also give a more detailed opinion in the comments of the topic.

gibby Well I guess it would be up to the community to decide what the polls would be about because the way i'm thinking of it, the polls would be user submitted and approved by the mod team. I'm envisioning anything from favorite Nintendo characters to serious political polls like opinions on NAFTA or something similar.
Initially I was thinking of a sitewide poll, but topical polls could be interesting.
Also, no problem on the tags. :) You can see any changes made to the topic (if there are any) under the "Topic log" in the sidebar. There's a bit of info on topic tagging in the docs if you're interested.
Thanks, I probably should have read the docs before posting anyways.

Another issue with Reddit that I would like to see Tildes address is the hierarchical post structure in topics. Seems to me that simply showing all posts as top level is superior as it puts every post on equal footing wrt visibility.

If somebody with heart issues is unknowingly taking viagra, I could see that leading to quite the lawsuit.

I think small things like that help build a sense of community and helps keep people engaged. The topic of the polls could be as lighthearted or serious as the mods decide, though i'd personally like a mix of both.
Thanks to whoever fixed the tags, i'm still not entirely sure how to tag topics appropriately.

I still do like some high-octane multiplayer shooters, but I mostly play single player games now.
Recently, i've been mostly playing Vermintide 2 when I have time.
Its essentially a left 4 dead style game set in the Warhammer Universe. Its pretty big on teamwork and can get really difficult. But theres something really satisfying about slaying hordes of rats as opposed to zombies for a change.

It could have the added benefit of preventing a decent amount of trolls or corporate accounts once you go public. It doesn't have to be a high cost either.
I can understand that.
Just gotta say I was invited here yesterday and I really like some of the site features. Particularly the activity filter and tag system.
Looks promising!
