As an aside, is this how people are actually using LLMs? It seems like it would be less work to just write the thing yourself.

I just picked up the Pixel Buds Pro 2 on a whim. They are my first pair of ear buds (always preferred headphones), and I have to say, they are fantastic. The noise cancelling and transparency modes work great, battery life is good, and they are the first Bluetooth anything I've owned that just work every time. No idea how they work with apple devices though ( I have a pixel 9 pro).

Train stops at the Niagara Falls, NY (NFL) station for upwards of 45 minutes, nominally so that the border control agents can "get ready" to receive you. Why they did not prepare during the 10+ hours they had all day I could not say.

I could hazard a guess: at first the border agents did prepare beforehand, but the train's arrival time wasn't reliable, resulting in lots of wasted time for the (probably understaffed) border agents. This was objectionable to them, on the basis that it is strictly their job to waste people's time, not the other way around. Thus, the current arrangement.

I have no actual knowledge of trains or customs, but I have worked inside a few large and bureaucratic organisations...

I can't help your problem but I know how you feel. There is a guy in the US who apparently thinks his email address is my email address. He signs up for every newsletter and loyalty program that he encounters, with my email address of course. He even gives it out to his family, who send personal emails to my address. I've tried sending a friendly reply, letting them know it's the wrong address, but it doesn't seem to help. I know where he shops, what he buys, and where he takes vacations. I've blocked and unsubscribed as much as I can but they keep on coming...

I've been using purelymail as the MX server for my personal domain for around 2 years maybe? It's a great service and perfect for my needs. It's incredible value, especially with multiple addresses.

The biggest advantage for the space owner is that by using tickets or an app system you enable considerable overpayment - the same time is paid for many times over, as people leave before their time expires and the next person comes in. An old school parking meter only allows one payment for the same hour, no matter if the user changes during that time.

I grew up listening to bands like Good Riddance and Sick Of It All. Are there any young bands that still make this kind of music? I have no interest in metalcore.

Not a scene, but a quote:

Not a scene, but a quote:

“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

I got the a Lord of the Rings collection for Christmas when I was about the same age. It is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best Christmas gift I've ever received.

For a while, a grocery delivery service here in Australia was offering the first order free for new accounts. Each order contained the ingredients for 4 or 5 meals, selected from a menu of meal choices. New accounts were verified in the usual ways, and also by checking if the associated credit card had been used previously to make an order. So, your free food deliveries were limited mainly by your ability access new credit card numbers :)

You could say neoliberalism has failed, but that's not right - it's been a raging success for those who drove it. Maybe you could say that neolibralism has failed to deliver what was promised, but those promises where never made in good faith, or believed by anyone.

I've spent most of my working life working almost exclusively with men, in male-dominated industries. Absolutely, without equivocation, "what's going on with men and masculinity?" is (much more than) a fair question to ask. Toxic masculinity crosses all class and social boundaries, in my experience.
