I don't have a favourite but I certainly have a least favourite, and that would be London Heathrow.

I understand that airports are inherently large, but the fact that Heathrow has no real viable alternative to get between the terminals besides one of three train systems is baffling to me. For someone either visiting London for the first time, or worse, someone requiring transit between terminals after a long flight to catch a connection, having to decipher which train you need to get, where to go, whether you need a ticket or not, and whether there are any operational issues with said train is unnecessarily complicated. I wouldn't be opposed to having a direct walking route between terminals rather than what is presented now; there isn't even a free shuttle bus service in case the trains break down (which happens more frequently than I'd hazard Heathrow would admit).

Arriving by car is also fundamentally flawed if you need to get to Terminals 2 & 3 if there's an snag on the entrance road, because if there's an issue, you are forced to go to either Terminal 5 or Terminal 4 and then get the aforementioned train across to T2&3.

The only terminal I actually like at Heathrow is Terminal 4, and that's probably because it's the most logically laid out, both pre and post-security. The other terminals are these massive glass-fronted buildings with several levels pre-security, and confusing, multi-storey lounges post, whereas T4 is essentially just a straight line, flanked by shops and restaurants post-security. The lifts (elevators) at Terminal 5 are perhaps the perfect example of this confusing nature - the lift goes from the bottom floor, all the way to the top, and then stops at the interim levels. The amount of tourists I've seen get off and then immediately get confused because they want to be on another level is comically high, because it goes against the basic function of a lift: people press the floors they want, and it takes them there sequentially. I just think the whole thing (minus T4) is overly complicated when it doesn't have to be, mainly for the sake of having fancy facades. I dislike Heathrow to such a degree that I would (and have) quite hapilly spend a bit more money to fly from Gatwick or London City, both of which are simple and far less stress-enducing than Heathrow.

I had a very similar thing occur a few weeks back - my device was on 86% battery health for the longest time, but one weekend it finally ticked down to 85%. Two days later, and it dropped to 84% and has stayed there ever since. I have a 13 Pro, so I'm happy that it's lasted as long as it has, but I don't trust the battery health percentage anymore, as there was a very noticable drop in longevity despite the health staying at 86% for at least 6 months.

A VPN + Indycar Live is all you should need to enjoy the sport. Indycar Live is really reasonably priced, and the racing is utterly sensational at times. I think now is a great time to join, as 2025 is the first full season with the new hybrid engines. Have a look at the list of countries that can access Indycar Live in full and then find a VPN that has an overlap.

Teams are very America-centric (which isn't a surprise obviously) but there are some famous names racing in Indycar that might pique your interest. The racing is a fair bit different to F1 as well, with three different styles of racing (Road/street, short oval and oval) each providing their own unique style of driving and racing. Indycar Live lets you watch previous races, and Indycar's YT channel also has extended 30-minute highlights of most races.

Edit - Just checked the list of countries that can watch live races and Belgium is one of them, so I think that's surely a good omen to dig in right away.

I would probably wait a bit longer but they are gradually adding more content. I think it is worth a purchase if you liked Balatro a lot but waiting a bit wouldn't be a bad idea either.

I only have one that would fit the 'Underrated Great' category, and that's Bingle Bingle. If you've played Balatro and wished 'I wish there were more casino games that have this kind of thing going on', Bingle Bingle might fill that hole with its take on the genre, only with roulette instead of poker. It's quite fun but a bit more involved than Balatro. Either way, it's good fun.

This year specifically, Formula E has had the best pure racing for me. Berlin's first race was one of the best motor races I think I've ever seen - so much action and so many great overtakes. I'm off to see the final two races in London in just under three weeks and I cannot wait.

I've also followed IndyCar for the first time this year and have enjoyed it. It's a lot more 'pure' than other open-wheel motorsports so that's been a nice change. Their street circuit design is also pretty great (Detroit was a nice surprise given how bland the track looked on paper).

I've tried following Australian V8 Supercars but the stream times just don't work for me in Europe, and watching replays just isn't as good as the real thing. Their highlights on YouTube are good though (seriously, the Gold Coast circuit with those tight back-to-back chicanes is such a fantastic design).

The puzzle collection one is on iOS as well, and is exactly what I've been looking for for ages now - a simple, fleshed-out collection of games to pass the time. Thanks for this :)

For me, it’s the sheer amount of very basic features they’ve started locking behind the Nitro paywall, to the point now where I’ve bought Nitro just so I could share my screen with friends at a respectable quality. The most recent thing that’s annoyed me is that servers under 50 users can no longer allocate permanent server invites, so small Twitch streamers, for instance, are going to have to constantly micromanage server invites, unless they pay to boost their server to unlock permanent invites (which used to be a free feature). That’s my understanding of that issue, at least.

Nitro used to be a nice-to-have, but now it’s almost become a necessity for people that use Discord often.

Edit: also, Discord killing a few third-party bots for no real reason was also a total joke, given that a little while later they introduced features in Discord that more-or-less mimicked the abilities of those bots (and you guessed it, they were Nitro-only server activities…)

I don't know if it's poor choices, bad luck, or something else, but so many of the brands I use daily seem to have become overwhelmingly worse over the past year or so. Twitter, Discord and Reddit for tech, the train company I use to get to work, the supermarkets I shop at. Even trivial things like lower-quality packaging on products that have had price rises - it's just tiring.

You mention advertising and general consumerism, though, and I can't agree more. It feels like we're inching towards a future where every little thing about our lives will become the subject of some sort of advertisement or special deal. I very much miss the days where things tended to have a clear, set price, and there weren't any sorts of 'special offers' tagged onto it to make you spend more money. It's greed, plain and simple, and society is just lapping it up because of the flashy colors and the high-budget marketing.

    Again: it's just tiring...

    Edit - spelling

Perfume Genius is my go-to when recommending music to folks that are open to anything new. His music and vocal talents are both superb, both working so well to deliver songs that have genuine meaning and thought behind them. Let me know what you think (On the Floor is my personal recommendation from that album specifically).

I enjoy making racing circuits. If I get a spare five minutes at work or am bored during my breaks, I’ll either open up Google Maps or Circuit Map Builder and just make circuits that I think would be fun to drive in real life. Google Maps is great for making street circuits because it has a the measure tool, so you can make it conform to the requirements of a specific series, like pit lane length and track width and whatnot. I find it really fun to turn streets into racing tracks. Race Track Builder is more for building permanent-style circuits, and is really great at nailing the style that F1 uses.
