I hope that everyone is able to be safe, and to have happy moments and memories. Whether you're celebrating with loved ones or you're going through this month by yourself, I hope you look after yourself.

Not exactly a holiday memory, but it's a nice one I look back on fondly. I had decided one weekend to fly to a different city to meet up with some friend. It was a snap decision, like right there and then. It was during summer, and on that particular evening it was forcasted to be cloudless. So we drove maybe half an hour, an hour out of the city. The whole sky was filled with stars; it felt unreal.
And then the next day I flew back home, as I had work the next day (flew out on a Saturday, flew back on Sunday). I usually never do something this spontaneous, so I really treasure those two days.

    Merry Xmas and happy holidays!

The banning of puberty blockers is actually being challenged in court here in New Zealand. There is an interim injunction (preventing the banning of puberty blockers from my understanding), until a proper judicial review can be heard. Small win for now, but it feels like shit.

I'll have to come back to this one, but one immediate thought is to fund the development of the next generation of optical space telescope (like Hubble but more powerful). Now the catch is it'll be put in geostationary orbit and pointed at the Earth. It won't be able to rotate much, so it'll just be staring at one patch of the Earth for a really long time. What purpose does this serve? Nothing really, other than saying that I (helped) build the next big space telescope.

It's been a mixed bag for me. I'm in the process of looking for a job (got made redundant 3-4 months ago) and haven't been very lucky. Granted, I'm looking for jobs in a niche field but it sucks to put in so much effort to write a cover letter and apply, get to a video/phone interview only to be told that you weren't successful. I'm trying not to let it get to me but it does hurt. On the other hand, I don't want to take any random job out of desperation. Been there before, rather not do that again.

I have the probably not unique, but the experience in learning (to various proficiencies) 5 different instruments, mostly during high school.

    • Piano
    • Violin
    • Trombone
    • Drums
    • Guitar

To this day, playing instruments remains a hobby (although I've not played at all in recent months) but I do appreciate the experience it's given me and for expanding my horizon when I was still in school.

The manga that does it for me is Chainsaw Man Part 1. I don't really want to type an essay on my phone, but the biggest thing for me is how it subverts the Shonen genre for manga. I loved every bit of part 1. The bonus is that it's less than 100 chapters in length meaning it doesn't really drag on for too much.

Other than the nightmare that is OSRS, I'm replaying Red Dead Redemption 2 and have been enjoying it. I've also been meaning to do a new playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 after the DLC launched, but just could not make myself open it, even if I did enjoy my first playthrough.

Picking up OSRS again after getting burnt out from a specific quest (Mourning's End 2 can f*ck off). So that'll be fun.
