Game testers wanted for science fiction game
I have a bare bones prototype of a game made in twine and I will be honest it needs a lot of work.
The story and main architecture of the game is already planned and I am happy with it. It is the story hooks and pathing that I am looking to improve and for that I would like to give out a early Alpha build for volunteers to critique and provide any dead ends, errors and story beats they find engaging.
Please feel free to send a message if you would like to participate. Thank you for your time.
Edit: Thank you for your interest in the game the final build should be ready for volunteers in one week. I will send links to you directly at that time. Thank you again for your interest this is much better than I hoped for.
I will help you out, but it’s better if you also clarify what kind of feedback you are not looking for, if applicable.
I am looking for creative feedback mostly. Any reports of dead ends would be nice but isn’t necessary for a volunteer. Any recommendations are really appreciated but if I were to ask for anything more I’d feel a bit slimy about it.
I'll also give it a go - though I'd like more detail! What type of game is it? What would you like the focus of the feedback to be?
It’s a multi branching story set in a Science fiction universe about finding meaning and purpose in a otherwise dying universe.
Happy to test it. I also have experience with Twine / SugarCube if you need help with defects or code reviews.
I would definitely appreciate that but please don’t spend too much effort the code is a mess and I’m just trying to keep the ship going as far as I can take it.
No worries either way. I know sometimes it’s good to have a sounding board or second opinion. At least on the technical stuff. I can’t help much with the actual writing!
I'd be happy to give it a try, if you don't already have too many volunteers!
I'd be interested! When you say creative feedback, do you mean for the story, or the art or something else?
Any and all feedback is welcome at this point. I’m getting ready to recycle the entire build and start fresh with much more documentation. Such is life :)
I hope it all goes well!
I will play your game
I'd be happy to take a look and give some feedback
Count me in on play testing your game, if you'll have me!!
I will also play your game.
Count me in for testing
I'd be happy to help test, any sort of details on what genre this game is?
I'm also happy to test the game.
I'd be interested in being a tester.
Happy to help out if you need!
Same am interested in trying it out.
Hello, I am interested in trying it out. I like to try out all possible paths so if you have a map of all the branching story paths you could also send I would appreciate that.
Unfortunately I cannot do that for it would defeat the purpose of testing. I want to know when boredom overcomes curiosity. Any and all feedback is welcome.
Sure, that makes sense. I am still interested in playing.
Would be happy to test and give feedback!
I'd be happy to try and play test.
This post caused me to look up Twine - that looks awesome - an open source project to make it easier for people to tell stories in game form.
I'm certainly interested. At first I thought I wouldn't be useful since I'm all Linux but with Twine outputting to HTML format that's not an issue - even more awesome!
I'm a Sci-Fi nerd and would enjoy taking part and giving feedback, if you want another tester in the Alpha test pool.
Twine has been where I got my foot in the door of game development and I can honestly say I wouldn’t have begun without it.
Thank you for volunteering I’ll be in touch in a few days if you’re still interested.
Count me in.
Always down to test out a game, count me in.
I'd love to assist.
If you still want more testers I'm about to have a month off work and would love to help out.
