After graduating college and moving out on my own, I saw my folks for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas every year. Some years we'd go to the beach for a week, so there was that too. It was about a 6hr drive to see them in MD as I live in NC, so it wasn't conducive to travel as often.

Now that they've since moved to NC as well but are only ~60mi, I see them about once a month or so.

I do Facetime my mother every night, but due to my Dad's job when I was growing up he and I aren't that close.

Being honest, I feel like other than the sequels to beloved franchises, there is not much good this coming season.

That said, some friends and I have been getting together every Sunday to watch through some of the stuff that is airing and will probably continue with that in the Summer. To that end, the crappy isekai is great to riff on even if it is not that good.

Shows that I am actually looking forward to:

    • The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses
    • My Happy Marriage
    • Liar Liar
    • Reign of the Seven Spellblades
    • Saint Cecilia & Pastor Lawrence
    • My Tiny Senpai
    • The Dreaming Boy is a Realist
    • The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior
    • Helck
    • Zom 100
    • Atelier Ryza
    • Mushoku Tensei S2
    • Masamune-kun Revenge R
    • Horimiya -Piece-
    • Rurouni Kenshin
    • Sugar Apple Fairy Tale Part 2

Shows that might be fun to riff on:

    • Hero Classroom
    • Reborn as a Vending Machine, Now I Wander the Dungeon
    • My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1
    • The Great Cleric
    • Am I Actually the Strongest?
    • Sweet Reincarnation
    • Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero

May seem like a lot, but I'm the type to try anything that seems to be remotely interesting. Then, after a few episodes, I will decide on whether or not to continue watching. Case in point, I had 30+ shows on my list this season. Even including the seven crappy isekai I've listed, there are only 23 shows on my initial docket.

    Some notable ones I’d suggest:

    • Girls und Panzer - Live tank battles as a women’s sport.
    • Yowamushi Pedal - A cycling anime for when you’re cycling
    • Kuroko’s Basketball - Was popular for awhile
    • Haikyuu - One about volleyball that got really popular
    • Uma Musume Pretty Derby - Horse-girls doing track in place of real horses. Have heard really really good things about season 2. S3 was recently announced as well.

I had massive burn out at my old job in 2019 due to a poor manager constantly pushing everyone's nose to the grindstone. Resulted in a team of about twenty to shrink down to maybe five. Saw the writing in the wall, got a new job and am now making double what I did when I started at my old job in less than three years.

Other than time, it doesn't cost anything to apply to other places! Trick is not to quit your current one until you have another lined up.

If you have access to an EDU email address, you can often get Autodesk's full suite for free through their educational portal. Main caveat, or at least to be, is that you cannot use it for commercial ventures, but it a great resource for learning the professional tools. I, personally, use Autodesk Inventor as it is what I learned in high school as part of the Project Lead The Way program that a lot of public schools in the US have.

As for functional uses, I was able to replicate a plastic piece that used to be part of an iPad easel my mother used a lot, but had since cracked from years of use. Just took some measurements with calipers, drew it up on paper, entered it into Inventor and the part was ready to print within 20min. Granted, this is with knowing the workflow, but is it not too difficult to learn and do.

In fact, other than a single benchy I have not printed any other artsy piece as it is better to create functional uses rather than waste plastic on a glorified paperweight.

What about Rune Factory 4 Special?

The whole Rune Factory series is made by the same company as the original Harvest Moon (now Story of Seasons in the West) series but with more RPG focus. Farming still plays an important role but you could play it as just an action RPG too. It often goes on sale on Steam, and should here soon during the large Summer Sale.

Main reason I didn’t suggest RF5 is that the move to 3D was not kind to the game and resulted in really sparse areas, towns and limited NPC interaction. They seem to have gotten things turned around, in a good way, as the spin-off of Rune Factory looks amazing. (Was recently announced as Rune Factory: Project Dragon)

My main issue with Mixolumia, which while is a great game, is that the speed/difficulty curve really ramps up once you get to about 350pieces in the marathon mode. Almost makes it luck based whether or not you can finish without topping out.

There is also the whole zen/relaxed mode too, but that is almost too slow. Its a great way to learn the patterns and how to manage pieces, so I would suggest messing around for a bit there.

If you have a Steam Deck, the game works wonderfully on it as well.

Would like to add that the soundtrack is amazing, but that too has spoilers. Don’t look it up until after you’ve beaten the game.
