Not adding to the discourse and not even doing it in the nicest way.
I left the comment out of frustration for the fact that I would still be a massive marvel fan if it still felt like they cared about quality, but again—this opinion is nothing new. I will say, Guardians 3 was great as were a handful of other things recently.
A better, more unique (maybe) and more discussion-focused question: do you guys think the genre is fading, and if it is, could it survive if things change? If it does fade—do you think there will be a resurgence in the future, sort of a retro/nostalgia kind of thing, in the way that Tarantino treats old Hollywood/Westerns?

Not a knock on you OP, I just can’t help but feel that the zeitgeist is pivoting aggressively away from Marvel and superhero movies in general, and we’re seeing it in real time. Going the way of the western… and disco (which coincidentally is having a massive resurgence right now)

I got a little ahead of myself (still have to finish up parts of the documentation) but I published it and made it available on GitHub for people to install.
I am a little worried it’s lacking in options right now but I’m thinking of adding an analytics flag (to tell you how much a file was compressed). Scratching my head for other ideas. Anyway, that’s the project :)

Comment on ‘Indiana Jones’ & The Box Office of Doom: Why ‘Dial of Destiny’ at $60M opening isn’t setting records for franchise finale in ~movies

In comparison to the Crystal Skull (which was terrible), I’m glad this movie is how the franchise is ending. It was a bit ridiculous and over the top and unbelievable at times, but I mean, it’s an Indiana Jones movie! It’s supposed to be that way. It had everything you could want in one; Phoebe Waller Bridges was great, there were nazis being punched, things that belong in museums being mishandled by people with nefarious intentions, chase scenes, and just great action.
I think it’s easy to trash on a movie like this without having seen it, after we’ve seen franchise after franchise ruined by greedy studios desperate to squeeze a bit more milk from them. Admittedly, it’s no Top Gun: Maverick, but if you like Indiana Jones, I think you’d like this movie.
Seinfeld. Festivus!
