For the social aspect? I'm on Anilist. It's a tracking website similar to MAL. I prefer Anilist for the cleaner interface and the fact it seems to have a larger manga database. While it's not the most socially focused website, I've managed to actually meet a few folk there that I chat on the regular with on Discord and whatnot. And Discord might be your other option. If you can find a good server that fits your needs.
Anyways, not much in the way of good answers here, but it's what I work with.

Not much aside from work after that, I feel like. Been in a bit of a funk and haven't been sleeping well.
My aunt told me that she thought I'd enjoy cross stitching. So I ordered a kit. Hoping that maybe comes sometime this weekend for me to fool around with.

If you like the chill slice of life elements, where they're just hanging together, something like Insomniacs After School may be your jam (the romance isn't really the main focus, but it is a focus--similar to how it is in Call of the Night, tbh).
You may enjoy the author's previous work as well, Dagashi Kashi. Though it is not nearly as serious in tone as Call of the Night is.

As for this episode specifically, our main team is shown to be grossly incompetent. I'm assuming in the next episode, we'll maybe see this as a ruse or not as it all appeared to be? That's my hope at least, as I can't say I like the idea of them actually being this chaotic.
All in all, I'm really liking the ideas behind this setting so far, but feel like the execution has felt a bit lacking. Also, rushed as a whole, as I didn't expect M(oriarty) to be an active character in the plot so early. I'm curious if these gripes would be addressed checking out the source material. Any readers of the manga out there?

Unfortunately, after the championship drama a couple years ago, I really lost my motivation and skipped last season entirely. Been slowly easing back into things this season. But I'm finding it hard to be as invested as I used to be in races.

As for when I started really reading comics, I saw an article about Civil War and thought it sounded interesting. Went to the book store to pick up some civil war tpb's. After consuming all those and a chunk of Amazing Spider-man stuff from around that time, I started hitting the comic shop, and was a regular for about the next ten years.
I don't read much anymore. Certainly not cape stuff. Mostly burnt out on super-heroes. But I had a good run.

Ray was a super kind guy who sat and talked with me for far longer than I expected, and is a great memory I hold to this day. For Peter, he was kind enough to take a picture with me even though I don't believe they were strictly supposed to (he was the one to ask if I wanted one), that photo is also another great memory for me.

Behold, we have received a new season of anime. So, I thought it'd be nice to have a place where people can recommend what they're checking out.
For me, I think this is actually a pretty strong season, with lots of promising shows. As for what I've seen so far:
Hormiya: the Missing Pieces - this is basically a lot of the content that the original series cut out in its speedrun through the series. While I would have preferred that they'd just adapted it at a normal pace originally, I'm happy that they're revisiting this series to give it its due.
My Tiny Senpai - Fun to see this webcomic turned manga (that also has a sequel manga) get adapted. If you like fluff romcom slice of life, this is your jam.
The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses - This is an interesting one seeing adapted. I enjoy the manga well enough, but I do feel like it'd be more suited as a short than as a full length anime (5 or 10 minute episodes would very much fit the content better, drawing it out did make some moments a bit cringe). That said, they did some incredibly ambitious stuff with cgi in the first episode that made it incredibly interesting just from a visual perspective. If you're a manga reader, do brace yourself for the art style and character design shifts, as I found them more than a bit jarring. Another fluff romcom for you fans out there.
Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon - Oddly enough, I just started reading this light novel series a month ago with no knowledge it was getting an adaptation. I know any sane person's reaction would be that isekai has truly reached the bottom of the barrel, but this will surprise you with its quality, I guarantee it. The source material is a comedy isekai with truly interesting characters, and I think the first episode was a mostly well executed adaptation (LN adaptations tend to lose the main character's internal dialogue which I find important, but here it's included because it's very necessary).
Now, here's some recommendations of stuff I haven't seen yet, but am familiar with source material I'd rec:
The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen - Yes, I know I know, Villainess Otome isekai is the new overpowered mc isekai, a dime a dozen. But trust me, this is a good one. A stellar cast of characters, and yes, while it follows the tropes of the subgenre, I think the stories it tells are incredibly interesting. I started with reading the manga (cancelled due to artist poor health), and then jumped to the original LN, and I have to say this is a series that has just consistent quality across the board.
My Happy Marriage - While I've read a bit of the manga and own the LN's, I haven't read the LN's yet. However, if you like dramatic romances though, this one's for you. It's not quite a "I will fix her", type series, there's elements of that due to her past. But really both of our main characters need a lot of growing to do, and they'll do that together. Expect a slow and dramatic pace.
The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today - Like silly slice of life? This one's for you kids. The manga is a fantastic slice of life following an OL and her rescued cat who really rescued her. The cat's also like 6 feet tall and cooks.
Tenpuru - This is a manga series from the artist, not author, of Grand Blue Dreaming. However, it also has a very similar vibe in general if you enjoy that series, but even sillier if that's possible. I guy trying not to be a playboy like his family is, and flees to a Buddhist temple full of women. Expect absurdity, and yes, definitely a harem, whether he wants it or not.
Saint Cecilia & Pastor Lawrence - A slow paced slice of life with romance undertones. A lazy saint and the pastor that takes care of them, their budding romance, and the friends they make along the way.
Hyakushou Kizoku - this is an odd one to recommend, because I've only actually read a chapter or two of the manga. However, this is from an author you'd all know Hiromu Arakawa, known for such minor series as Full Metal Alchemist and Silver Spoon. This is an autobiographical series of her time growing up in Hokkaido on a farm (experiences that very much inspired and informed Silver Spoon).
Anyways, these are just some of my own thoughts on this season, I'd love to see yours.

As another poster pointed out, Fujimoto (who did Eri), actually has a whole lot of one shots that you may enjoy (aside from the ones they listed, a number of his one shots have actually been recently published in collected volumes as well--some are proto chainsaw man, and some are more like Eri).
Ultimately, one shots are often (but not always) pitches to get serialized. Sometimes, I also kinda wish they'd stayed one-shots once seeing them get serialized (for example Hokkaido Gals which went from a cute one shot to a drama love triangle serial).
That said, if you are on /r/manga as you mentioned, there's one shots posted daily of varying quality. As it's a low investment to check out, I suggest just checking a few each day. A lot will be mediocre at best, but considering the lack of time required, it's fun and can yield the occasional memorable chapter.

I went through all 13 volumes of Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear in like a week and a half. It was more entertaining than it had any right to be. I did try the anime after, but dropped it half way through the first season as it kinda felt like it completely missed the point of the series and cut out all the stuff I found especially interesting.
I also read a volume of Apocalypse Bringer Mynoghra. Interesting concept to make a game isekai that's 4x focused, but it sadly felt like it just didn't make use of that theme very much.
Reborn as a Vending Machine is better than it has any right to be. Happy to see it's getting an anime this season. And I'm hoping that's a sign that it's ending hiatus.
Last season had some great anime, I loved to see Insomniacs get an adaptation (and a good one at that). This upcoming season also has some strong contenders (I'm looking forward to Heretical Last Boss, it's a novel series I've been incredibly fond of).
That's more or less the highlights of my recent media consumption.
Been playing Palia for a few weeks now (I got to start at the tail end of Alpha). It's fun, and I really like the idea of a comfy mmo like this.
However, I do feel like they're rushing forward with now open Beta looking for a full release. I understand the drive to want to get monetization going for a company, but the game is still rough around the edges, and it definitely feels its lack of content at the moment. It's not a bad game in this state at all. The gameplay cycle after the first few hours feels grindy and repetitious. I just worry that rushing this to the public so quickly will ultimately negatively impact the longevity of the game. Hope I'm wrong though!
