Some people balk at the price, and yeah, for between $2 to $3 a pencil, that's a lot more expensive than normal pencils, but also, how many pencils do you really go through? Even graphite artists don't chew through more than maybe 2 or 3 a month, and that's for professionals.
The more annoying thing is that you can only buy 12 pencils at a time, for whatever reason. So it cost like $33.

I hear a lot of good things about Mitsubishi's Hi-Uni but for some reason have never tried one. Next time I restock I should get a few.
Anyway it's just pencils. All the good ones are worth a few quid each. Although I do think it's a waste of money if you don't buy nice paper to use them on. Oh no more nice stationary I have to buy oh no.

What you get is smoothness. Oh, so smooth. Your writing implement just glides so nicely. If you're using ink you will probably see less bleeding as well.
The graphite making process was incredibly satisfying to watch. Did not consider that graphite core is clay based and therefore can be manipulated/cut/extruded like clay.

When I first learned about these pencils ages ago they seemed expensive but I think they're decent value for what you get. I can't complain about the price since I use Graph Gear 1000s. I got lucky buying a whole box of them for like 20 bucks.

Noted, try out tombow mono 100 next time i need a restock on pencil.
