    I guess the starch must come from something like potatoes or rice. At least they're not made of wood. Still better than Tide pods.

      Food colouring is used to impart a green hue to the toothpicks, made from sweet potato or corn starch, which are seen as being environmentally friendly and biodegradable.

        I don't disagree, but apparently during that whole Tide Pod craze there were less than 20 reports of teens intentionally eating them. Definitely more of a panic than anything.
