Please note that the discussion around the second game especially was very heated online. This video tries to take an approach down the middle of the road. It is not a 10/10 pure praise video, nor is it a bigoted rant about the queers and how dare they kill Joel and have you heard what a turd the game is. It's a very sensible take and puts into words my view on the game better than I ever could.

It's also entertaining. The gamer on the yoga ball knows how to make videos.

Do you know whatever happened with him? He used was prolific and then he pretty much dropped off the face of the earth. Is he focusing on music right now or something?

Quick meta question: is a spoiler tag on a url post supposed to cover comments as well or just the linked content?

For something very specific (eg. episode X of TV show), then I think it's implied that you should open the thread after watching. The thread is specifically for discussing the events of that episode.

For something more general like this (discussion of game design concepts across dozens of games), then I would expect spoilers to be tagged properly. It's a wider topic so there's less expectation of what's to come.

The comments are often useful to consult before diving into an hour-long video to determine if it's worth the time, and I definitely opened this thread before clicking onto the video.

The posts I usually see the orange spoiler label on are the recurring movie/tv threads and those have spoilers in them.

People in those threads generally hide spoiler content under a details tag, but those are general threads, not focused on one thing, so people browsing wouldn't necessarily be expecting spoilers for the specific media someone chooses to discuss.
Since this is a thread specifically about Naughty Dog, I clicked knowing there would likely be spoilers for their games.

A great deconstruction about what is wrong with the second game and what is great about the first. In the end it was the execution of all the ideas in TLOU2 that led to its poor reception in the same way as Star Wars the Last Jedi. The idea of Luke becoming bitter and Ellie having to come to terms with her loss are both excellent ideas and great plot points to build narratives. It's just that both properties executions were abysmal and heavily damaged both of their respected franchises.

Add on top of that trolls and media making it about right vs left politics and you have the powder kegs that they both became for discourse. Thankfully that trend of hiding behind social statements to prop up shitty products has lessened in the last few years.
