Outlaws looks like the project that the tech from the Beyond Good and Evil 2 trailer’s eventually turned into. I’m cautiously intrigued, but concerned that this is just another cookie cutter Ubisoft game. Also, the design for the main character’s ship doesn’t look very Star Wars to me. It looks less Millenium Falcon and more flying Poptart.
The Snowdrop engine does make it visually stunning... but the gameplay (on foot at least) just looks like every other generic Ubisoft third person shooter game. I'm not particularly impressed yet.

There's a grand canyon between exciting and boring 3rd person stealth shooter for me, with Uncharted 4 and Last of Us 2 being solidly on the good side. Agility between points of cover, verticality, moving in and out of stealth, meaningful weapon/attack choices, interesting AI - I still love the gameplay, but so many different factors need to be excellent to make this well worn genre engaging. And Kay Vess hunkering down behind the same cover for half her fight picking guys off wasn't very encouraging. I hope the fights end of being more dynamic (and the space combat too). I like the dog.
I was watching this on the livestream, it looks great but also super generic? Not too sure how excited I should be for it at least. It looks very much like an Ubisoft game but not that's not...

Yeah "open world Ubisoft game" actually puts me off the idea of playing it. It could end up being filled with cookie cutter "drive to these 10 checkpoints" missions and a thousand collectibles...

Jedi survivor was about as open world as I'd like to get, with only slightly more collectibles than I'm interested in, though that game was mostly just lots of small sections linked together so it didn't feel like as much of a chore to do stuff in as say watchdogs does.
I’m with you on this - it feels like a nice twist that could offer an interesting perspective on the SW universe. And it’s not without precedent; the franchise is full of rogues and renegades, so...

I personally am a big fan of Ubisoft games and think this looks fantastic. It’s also super exciting that Massive is behind it because their games always feel especially polished.

If it's Ubisoft, expect most of the map to be not visible until you climb a tower of some sort.
I'm relatively optimistic about this game. Looks like its Star Wars GTA, and I like that it isn't another Jedi story.
