Steam: Arkane Studios Sale (runs to November 21)

    Including but not limited to:

All of the games on offer are generally well-received, but I’ll personally highlight Prey. It’s essentially a spiritual successor to the System Shock series, and it also features one of the best opening sequences of any game I’ve ever played. The current discount is a steal.

I'm going to give a recommendation for Lil Gator Game. It's a awesome little questy exploration game, in a similar vein to A Short Hike (or a Hike-like if you will). You play as the titular lil gator, who enlists their friend to set up cardboard monsters and quests around an island. It has charming characters, simple but fun gameplay, and you can use a small trampoline as a shield that you can slide and bounce around on. It's wholesome fun for the whole family.

It's playable in some 8 hours and the gameplay is definitely on the relaxed side. It's a traversal oriented game with nice environments.

That looks fantastic. I've added it to my wishlist for when it eventually does go on sale. They seem to be advertising more new and upcoming games through these events.

Haven Park (40% off) is another Hike-like that follows the formula of the original game quite closely. It’s not quite as polished or charming, but if you’re looking for another Short Hike, then it’ll definitely scratch that itch.

(EDIT: Haven Park is also currently available in Fanatical’s Birthday Favorites Build-Your-Own Bundle. If other games there interest you, that’s a better deal.)

Yoku’s Island Express (80% off) is one of my favorite games in recent years. I played through it once and loved it. I then came back to it a year or so later to start it over and fully 100% it. It is a pinball metroidvania, which sounds like a genre combination that shouldn’t work but, against all odds, it does. The game is wonderfully charming and thoughtful. It’s not quite the “cozy” type of game that people generally think of when they hear that label, but it’s definitely got chill, feel-good vibes throughout.

    https://www.humblebundle.com/membership/checkout?duration=annual&promo=holiday23

I'm.... honestly not sure if this is an amazing deal, but essentially it's 12 credits to use for Humble Choice since you can pause months. As someone who buys bundles a lot, I'd probably say that the choices range from average to good, and after a couple of months you'll unlock (up to) 20% off on games in the Humble store, which is where I personally buy games most of the time.

Also, at the risk of sounding like a shill, I think Humble Choice is one of the best deals in gaming, and this promo is pretty unbeatable: 96 games a year for $99 USD is stunningly good, and the games they surface are well worth it. There is a lot of fodder in the game bundle space, but Choice’s selection is top tier.

I find Humble Choice to be just a bit too much, honestly. Granted, my PC library is already full to the brim with over 1000 titles, but Choice usually only has one, maybe two games I'm actually interested in and otherwise, it's just more titles filling-up my library that I'll never actually play and I'm not interested in.

The deal is excellent, but I'm trying to be a little more discerning these days when it comes to games I'm picking-up.

Alternatively, I've gotten some games from Choice that I probably never would've picked up that have gone on to be favorites of mine simply because I got them in a monthly. The fact that there's one 'big' game I care about means I know the $12 isn't going to waste while there's always the possibility of a duplicate, I can give those away as presents or what not.

If you're like me and always in charge of bringing the games for Thanksgiving get togethers, Spiderheck and Spacelines from the Far Out are both good for it. I personally enjoyed Soundfall as well!

I'm personally recommending Streets of Rogue at near all time low - $4. The new Star Wars Skywalker Saga is also on sale. There's also a lot of Flash deals for those who are still into that from the old Steam deal days.

    https://www.greenmangaming.com/black-friday/

They're doing flash deals, atm it's Back 4 Blood but I think if you don't have the WB bundle I posted above, it's probably a better deal on Humble if you don't have any of the games.

    • IsThereAnyDeal shows historical lowest price on Marvel's Midnight Suns an almost Heroclix inspired game with a decent storyline and strategy.
    • Also showing historical lowest price on Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga which I personally enjoyed a lot, a completely different (yet kinda similar) style to the old games.
    • Historical low on Dredge right now as well, beating out the Fanatical price last week by about... 25 cents or so. (Sorry @cfabbro if you already picked it up!)
    • Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is a couple of cents off the lowest historical price, a fantastic story game that was very compelling and different story than the movie's plots.
    • I understand that TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection is a very good collection of beat-em-up games that are nostalgic for people a bitttt older than me.

Feel free to let me know if I missed anything cool, the games I highlighted are games that I've personally played and enjoyed except the TMNT one!

Humble is doing their Black Friday Sales now too:
    https://www.humblebundle.com/store

I think that it might be very comparable to the GMG sale I posted already, with some extra discounts for the Humble Choice members, though I'm not entirely sure if prices get even lower from there.
For example, Dredge shows up on GMG for me as $15.93, while it shows up on Humble for me at $16.87.

Quick exceptions that I've seen on Humble but not GMG:
Humble Published Games Presumably they'll be on Steam whenever the Fall sale launches. (for those of you who put up with my ramblings keep your eyes peeled, I might have an extra key for Unpacking in the near future ;) )

Devolver Published Games are also absent, most notably Cult of the Lamb with Choice Discount is a historical low at under $15. My personal favorite is Inscryption, for near historical low at $10.79

Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak are at historical lows with Choice Discount

I have a day job so I won't list any more here but please use isthereanydeal to check the lowest price for you (don't forget to look at Choice Discount as well if you're on it)

Nickelodeon All Star Brawl 2 seems quite heavily discounted for a game that was released just a couple of weeks ago. This isn't necessarily a recommendation - - the user reviews on Steam are fairly positive, but it sounds like support for the first title ended quite abruptly, which had soured some people. I'm curious - - a casual brawl game sounds like a good addition for my library. Anyone here have experience with the series?

I played the first one, before they added voicelines for it though. I consider myself an above average Smash player, and my verdict is that it's alright. Doesn't feel as clean and tight as Smash is. I feel like Multiversus and Playstation All Stars were cleaner, more polished, and felt better to play.

That being said, I haven't played 2 yet, watched some gameplay and it looks about the same though.
