I'm just glad that it doesn't feature the actual number of hours spent gaming because I already know it's way too high.

And that's not including the time I spent playing games on Epic, GOG, EA, and Xbox for PC... where I think I have at least 200 hours played in Grounded, and god knows how long on Forza Horizon 5 and Starfield. :/
445*100/30 = 1483.33333333 total hours played this year for you I also really suck at math so I could be totally wrong. But that's how I calculated my total though. :P

Wow! I'm in a pretty similar boat: Starfield (129.4 hours played) was 11% of my playtime bringing me just over 1176 hours played on Steam. I'm not sure how many hours I've sunk into other systems, but did probably play 100-ish hours of Diablo IV at least.
Eh, I wouldn't worry. I did the math on Alan Wake's American Nightmare and BG3 and numbers average out between 310 and 520... Of course, I spent time on my Switch and Forza Horizon 5 this year...

Agreed. I wish there were a minimum gametime or something. A lot of mine are games I tried out for only a few minutes, while many were ones I only launched once for a moment to toggle them from "unplayed" to "played" in my library (usually things I've played on another platform but ended up with a copy of on Steam due to a bundle or whatnot). That's to say nothing of the games that never actually ran because I'm running Linux (although, admittedly, that's increasingly less of a problem these days because now it seems like nearly everything launches without a fuss).

That's me and VRChat. Also, that spider graph sure is weird. If it's tag based, I don't think they always selected the most relevant tags from the games I've played.

My Top 5:
Immortals Fenyx Rising
Brotato
Nomad Survival
Arcade Paradise
Beat Saber
Makes sense. The top 4 were all "audiobook games" for me. I played them and enjoyed them, but they're more of a mental backdrop for me that helps me focus on listening to books or passively watching documentaries. Immortals Fenyx Rising was a satisfying open world game with lots of checklisting to do. Brotato is ridiculously addictive. I enjoyed Nomad Survival more than Vampire Survivors. Arcade Paradise is genuinely not great and I have some major issues with it, but also its core loop of playing minigames to clear different objectives pulled me in. I continued playing it in spite of its issues to see it all the way through to 100% completion. Beat Saber is iconic and will probably be in my top 5 yearly now that I'm playing on my Index instead of a Quest.
Device Breakdown:
55% Steam Deck
32% Linux
10% Virtual Reality
4% Windows
Because the Steam Deck technically also counts as Linux, I technically did 87% of my gaming on Linux this year (though that's probably slightly off as these numbers add up to 101% -- cue another "Valve can't count" joke). The only time Windows gets gamed on for me is for local multiplayer sessions on my TV when we have people over, and when I play VR.
(EDIT: Can we talk about JUST HOW GOOD Linux support has gotten? I've been gaming on Linux almost exclusively since Valve released Proton, and in that short window of time I've gone from hoping for the best with fingers eagerly crossed to legitimately not even checking whether a game is compatible because I fully expect it to just work which, most of the time, it does! Things were already doing quite well, but the success of the Deck feels like it's taken things to the next level.)
VR probably would have been a lot higher this year (it was my first year with my Index) but I threw my back out for a couple of months and thus let it sit for a bit. I'm only just now getting back into the habit.
Top 5 Deck Games:
Immortals Fenyx Rising
Brotato
Arcade Paradise
Luck Be a Landlord
Vostok Inc.
Every single one of these were "audiobooks games" for me. My ideal state of being is lying in bed, snuggled up next to my dog while I play something mindless on my Deck and listen to a nonfiction audiobook. Special shoutout to Luck Be a Landlord -- a ridiculously addictive roguelite deckbuilder based around choosing the symbols that go on a slot machine.
My Top 5 VR Games:
Beat Saber
Synth Riders
Pistol Whip
Shooty Fruity
Punch Fit
I've already talked about Beat Saber. Synth Riders is very similar to Beat Saber and almost as fun. Pistol Whip is a rhythm/shooter hybrid that's a ton of fun and is surprisingly good exercise. At higher difficulties you have to move your body around a LOT to dodge incoming bullets, so there's a lot of squatting and throwing your weight around. Shooty Fruity is a cute hidden gem -- a horde shooter game where you kill hordes of incoming fruit while also completing tasks like scanning groceries or assembling food trays. Punch Fit is a very hidden gem. It's a straight up exercise app where you do different repeated boxing workouts. It offers YouTube integration so you can watch while you work out, but that's currently broken so I -- you guessed it -- listen to audiobooks while playing it instead!
+1 recommendation of Pistol Whip, it's like surprisingly difficult lol. I've never heard of Shooty Fruity though and it looks really cool, I might have to pick that up myself! I didn't do too much...

I didn't do too much VR gaming myself this year either, though I kinda wish I did. Nothing too much to be excited about this year for me at least, though the new Asura's Wrath looks pretty good.
Does Immortals work well on Deck? I had some issues with it recognizing controller input on PC, and in conjunction with Ubisoft Launcher I assumed it was a no-go for Deck.

Immortals worked great for me on Deck (I played it exclusively on there).
I might have had to download a custom controller profile? I can’t remember.
Also, the caveat is that it only works as well as Ubisoft’s launcher does at any given moment. It seems like they’ve been playing nice with the Deck so far, but it always feels tenuous at best and like my game could suddenly stop working at any moment should their launcher go sideways (either accidentally or deliberately).
Also, while on the subject, I did learn that you can get nearly any Ubisoft game to run — including ones that still ship with the old Uplay launcher, or even older versions of Ubisoft Connect — by downloading the newest installer for Ubisoft Connect separately and then using Protontricks to run that inside the game’s prefix. I got Rayman Legends and several other old Ubisoft games to run on my Deck this way, when they wouldn’t launch otherwise (because Uplay has long since been deprecated). Not exactly on topic but I figured I’d mention it in case you or anyone else was running into that issue.

Halo Infinite
Starfield
Red Dead Redemption 2
Halo Infinite has made a serious comeback this year. I enjoyed it well enough at launch but they've really pulled off another MCC-style revamp. Gunplay is the best in the series, there are a ton of free-to-earn cosmetics now, lots of map variety, (mostly) fixed desync, and a steady stream of new content. This makes me so happy because while there are plenty of games like Call of Duty and plenty of games like Fortnite, there's simply nothing quite like Halo.
Starfield was really solid IMO. Bethesda got a lot of (deserved) criticism for some choices in this game, but damn it.... it's such an engaging world to get lost in (literally, thanks to the map issue haha). I also really enjoyed the creative twist at the end. Can't wait to hop back in when Shattered Space drops.
I hated Red Dead Redemption II at launch. I thought it was slow, meandering, didn't respect the player's time, and had incredibly repetitive mission structure. I enjoyed the slower pace of the story but the gameplay was so tedious - like Rockstar prioritized being an accurate simulation over being a fun game. Weapon maintenance is NEVER fun lol. I bought it again when it came to PC and still hated it. I decided to actually sit down and finish it this year and.... I still didn't really like it. I enjoyed the story and the visuals were beautiful, but it just didn't connect with me. Oh well. At least now I can say I finished it.

I'd imagine they skew things the other way, so we neophiles and the dedicated fans balance each other out. Note that on average 91% of games played were released in prior years. People like what they like, and a lot of people won't switch to something new.

But the median number of games a Steam user played in 2023 is only 4? And median streak is only 5 days? Maybe I can believe a 5-day streak. I'm older now, and while I don't have a family or kids, I know it's tough for some of my friends who do have families to game everyday. But 4 games played in the whole year? With as many Steam sales as there are these days Idk...Seems sus.
Then again, I'm a degenerate gamer. So maybe you and I are the problem, haha.
Damnit... the idle and clicker games I have been "playing" (mostly by leaving them running in the background) have totally messed up my stats. I wish there was a way to exclude certain games or genres from the review. :(

Math isn't my strong suit, so I'll just take my 445 hours in BG3 for 30% total play time and... keep not doing the math.
445*100/30 = 1483.33333333 total hours played this year for you
I also really suck at math so I could be totally wrong. But that's how I calculated my total though. :P
Welp, there goes that blissful ignorance!! ^.^ Glad I'm in good company in the 1200+ hour club.
We accept her. One of us! One of us!

I looked specifically to see how getting a steam deck impacted my gaming this year. 72% of my time was on the deck since Sept, babyyyyy.
