Not sure if there's a term or category for this but I love these videos where people come up with unique problems to solve and then work through it piece by piece until they reach the desired goal. Problem solving? Puzzles? Programming? I'm not sure, but I find it fascinating to watch their approaches to different problems, like how to create logic gates within the confines of Bloons TD6 limitations.
For example, a while back someone posted this video of someone creating a script to beat Pokemon without visuals or audio and it had a lot of these similar "Well I fixed X, but now Y isn't working, so we're going to try to do Z to fix that, but oh wait, we haven't taken W into consideration..." and it was equally fascinating.

Remarkable! Never would have thought to do this with the game. I love his solution for the XOR gate—what a clever emergent mechanic.
That was a fun watch. I’m currently addicted to BTD6 myself, so it’s cool to see how creative folks can be with the editor. Thanks for sharing!
For anyone that enjoyed this video, I highly recommend checking out a similar (but much more complicated) video I submitted last month:

Seconding the recommendation! Out of all the videos in this ‘genre’ of videos, it’s one of my favorites.
I love this genre of videos but it really makes me wish I paid more attention in my Comp/Electrical Engineering classes in undergrad lol.
