Can you recommend me some Android games that work well with a gamepad? (more details inside)

I finally swapped my pre-historic phone for something a little more current and would like to play some games on it. I'm not a big fan of touch controls for games, so I got one of those adapters that allows me to play games with my Xbox controller while the phone is attached to it. Right now I would be interested in MMORPGs as well as things that resemble MMORPGs. Other than that, I appreciate pixel art in general. I am well aware of emulators and will be looking into those, but I have played emulated games for years so it might be interesting to try something else for now. The phone can probably handle most games unless we're talking about something very intensive.

Preferably games that were either made for mobile or adapted well. I don't care for tiny text or tiny UIs.

Zaniness, wackiness, and fast pace are appreciated.

Thanks!

There is always GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud Streaming, or Steam Link if you're curious about using your phone as a portal for streaming. But as far as local Android games with a Gamepad, specifically as an MMO, nothing immediately comes to mind. Your Genshin Impacts and Honkai Star Rails are mmo-ish, but also have elements of free to play Gatcha that can be off-putting. Knights of the Old Republic is really good and was an inspiration for Mass Effect, but that's single player only. Maybe Diablo Immortal? Haven't played it, and heard that it can get pretty pay to win, but it's reviewed well.

You can also get the Google Play Pass if it's available your area and get an awful lot of games to try out, even if you cancel you can just purchase the game. There are also some games you can get from a Netflix subscription, and there are some good ones, but you lose access to them when you cancel your subscription.

Edit: Old School RuneScape? It has it's fans and an Android version.

I got you covered. Dead Cells is an amazing game and I definitely prefer playing it with a controller over touch controls. It's also pixel art. Super addictive game.

Stardew Valley is available on Android for a low price, is compatible with a game pad, and it's spectacular.

One thing that surprised me is that holding a button to cut up a tree, for example, doesn't work. You have to press it again for each motion. Pretty annoying.

Yeah... now that I think of it emulators will probably be the best way to play with a controller. Gamepad support is seemingly not great on Android.

Not an MMO but you might want to try Crashlands. Fits perfectly into zany and wacky.

dysmantle is such an amazing casual game. its a top down third person game where you destroy EVERYTHING for materials to upgrade and invent new things. you dont worry about ANY inventory management, durability or survival mechanics. all the game wants you to do is break shit and explore. theres cooking, but only because the recipes you find are PERMA stat boosts that are added the first time you cook said dish. the crafting is minimal and simple, feels more like an upgrade button to me than actual crafting bs. i originally found the game because of FitGirl and put over 150hrs in on my piracy playthrough. last week i bought all of the content to replay it with my girlfriend in coop and to be a dirty completionist. it was ported to mobile sometime after release iirc. one of my all time favorite games. super simple gameplay loop but i cant put it down. great for getting stoned and zoning out with a youtube video up. ill admit that i was unsure if id like it at first, and its such a unique game that i would really recommend giving it a try-before-buy if youre able. sorry if this is mostly rambling, i just woke up but not enough of my friends know about this 10/10 game so i just had to spread the word any way i could.

if you liked dave the diver you may have a good time with this one as well, not because theyre similar gameplay wise, but more so the vibe and goofiness and just wanting to give the player a good time.
