Empire builders starts at 3 for $5. I'll pass on this one.

RPGs starts at 3 for $5. I'll probably grab Moonlighter, Ash of Gods, and Mortal Shell.

Jubilant bundle starts at 1 for $1. Mind the math, 5 games is cheaper than 4. It was posted last week, but this one is good, even if you just get Mutazione for a buck. Also got Gedonia, I Am Fish, GoNNER, Spinch, Styx, and Hive.

And while not part of the bundle bash, I did buy the monthly bundle (July) starting at 3 for $10. I grabbed Superliminal, Coffee Talk, Besiege, Metro Exodus, and Vanaris Tactics. They were out of Frostpunk keys when I bought it, looks like they restocked.

Also not in bash but still bought, the bountiful bundle starting at 1 for $5. This one I got Chorus, Skabma Snowfall, Raji An Ancient Epic, In Other Waters, Call of the Sea, and Soul Tolerance.

That's an awful lot of games for someone burning through a new MMO expansion lol. There's other goodies in these too, they just didn't seem as up my alley.

Would also recommend "Encased" as an option in the RPG bundle. A really nice sci-fi cRPG that's absolutely worth the low entrance fee.

Wow didn't that Suicide Squad game release recently? (Just checked, released January of 2024!) Wonder why it's going for free so soon. Thanks for the heads up!

From what I know, it's pretty poorly received and has received a LOT of criticism. I don't even pay much attention to live service games or participate heavily in any gaming scene, but I've heard a lot of negative things about it in passing. Typical complaints like being a blatant money grab, bugs and server issues, and also just being bland and dull. Lots of critique of it being repetitive.

They're probably offering it for free in hopes they'll get new players who will like it enough to buy the in-game skins or whatever microtransactions it has. The people who get it from this sale probably wouldn't buy the game anyway, so this gives an opportunity to make some money.

Arcade Paradise is a severely flawed but still kinda great little game.

The premise is that you run a laundromat that has an arcade in the back. By doing laundromat chores, you can start to accumulate money and expand the arcade. Eventually you'll swap over to earning enough from the arcade that you can forget about the laundry.

This makes the beginning of the game a trudge.

In addition to the "simulation" (i.e. chore)-based gameplay, you can also play the arcade cabinets that you buy. Each one is its own little standalone minigame, many of which are legally distinct versions of familiar arcade favorites.

Each day you get random bonus objectives for your arcade machines that can get you extra money (e.g. getting a certain score on one of the machines). Each machine also has its own long-standing individual objectives. You can do a lot of checklisting in the game.

As you gain money, you can buy more cabinets and also get upgrades to make your chores easier. Eventually, you'll have few chores to do (or none since you can ignore them without penalty) and can spend all of your time playing your arcade cabinets.

I enjoyed the game and put 30+ hours into it going for the 100%, but I also listened to audiobooks while playing it. I don't think it has 30+ hour staying power on its own.

I also think it could use some polish in a lot of places. Some of the games are buggy or are simply un-fun. Some of the objectives are ridiculous. Amidst all this though, there's a lot of enjoyment to be had from the stuff that works well. My favorite was a game called "Stack Overflow" that was a sort of time-pressure box-sorting solitaire game.

Another Fanatical bundle -- cards and tabletops starting at 3 for $5. Despite the Hasbro, it isn't just digital board games. My bud was into Banners of Ruin, I'll probably pick up a pack for that.

As always, one of my favorite games of all time is Celeste, will always recommend the game!! Towerfall is also an incredibly fun multiplayer game to play with friends, I have very fond memories playing it.... 10 years ago in my freshman year dorm with random floormates walking in and giving it a shot. (Jeez has it been 10 years?)

I'm thinking of picking up the bundle for Rivals of Aether, but I also have most of the other games in the bundle so we'll see how I'm feeling.

I think the last fanatical bundle of the bash, fps starting at 3 for $5. Rage and Killing Floor 2 are worth the price, but I think this one is a pass for me.
