If you haven’t played the first game, it’s possibly one of the most inventive stories I’ve played while gaming. The mechanics become more and more intuitive over time, and the little details astound you with their deftness. It’s confusing as all hell at points, but you grow to love the confusion, as it pulls you deeper into a story that’s never been told.
I liken the Control to an action packed mystery novel that deserves a magnifying glass
along with its powerful weapons and telekinetic abilities
. It’s worth every second, and even if you put it down for a few weeks, picking it back up is like riding a bike.
Alan Wake 1&2 are dissimilar in style but Remedy is Remedy. The art direction and sound design blow you away for something that was released right on the cusp of a console generation change.
Be ready to not really understand, enjoy, and continue to think about it even longer afterwards. Read Mark Z Danielewski’s book House of Leaves if you want a similar experience.
This second game is probably going to melt our consoles.

I loved every second of this trailer. Steam Deck support seems to be missing, but considering Control is both Platinum on ProtonDB and Steam Deck Verified, it would be weird if this one wasn't. Unless it's melting GPUs, but considering how the footage looks, I can't really complain.

I'm very disappointed to not see Jesse return as the player character. There's so many action games that just default to a male protagonist and I liked that the first Control didn't. For the sequel I was thinking they might have two protagonists you would swap between, like in Alan Wake 2, but it doesn't look like that's the case.
I do hope Remedy stick the landing and this isn't another Firebreak. Maybe it'll be good! But it really hurts to have your excitement for something plummet like this.
Control 2 honestly looks right up their alley. It’s the type of game I would definitely see them make. I watched the trailer and said: “yes, this is a Remedy game” Firebreak on the other hand was...

Firebreak on the other hand was the real head scratcher. I’m still wondering how the chain of decisions even looked like.
So, I wouldn’t necessarily be worried about this one; I’m actually a bit hyped, and I rarely feel so about modern gaming.
Well, that looks a good bit more like my kind of thing than Firebreak.
I'm not sure if Firebreak was anyone's thing, It seemed pretty much DOA.

"The sibling has gone rogue/fishing".
So either Jesse is corrupted, or she's on a fishing trip with Ahti. Maybe both.
