The server operates on a soft whitelist. Anyone can log in and walk around, but you need a Tildes account to gain build access.
We recommend you install our mod web-chat so that you can chat while in your web browser. It turns the server into an old-school chat room.
A few people have recommended that we organise a PvP event on my base [while it's unfinished] because it looks and feels a lot like a map from an FPS game like CS:GO and CoD. What do the rest of you think?
I can livestream with commentary.
I'd be down for sure, I had to miss last season's PvP event cause of work.
I had to miss the last PvP event and I haven't played for ages, but I'd be down!
I would be interested in participating, but also my weekends for the next couple of weeks are quite full so sadly may not be able to join depending on the day
I'm in the process of clearing out the water above the end portal room to make space for a slightly larger/taller footprint that more closely resembles the architecture of a typical cathedral. (I'm using the layout of Amiens Cathedral as a reference.) Even with the larger footprint, it is not quite to scale. I did mock up a scale model in creative, and boy is it huge. I'm not doing that.
The flooded cave above the portal room made placing the old ceiling tedious. Extending the height further would be a nightmare, so instead I am clearing out the water with gravel before proceeding.
I've already dug out the new footprint and placed the column bases and some of the smaller walls. You can see what I'm planning to do with the sculk blocks behind the windows. Especially on the higher windows, it creates a nice "twinkling stars" effect in my creative build. I'm excited to get it put together.
I am planning to lean into the ender color scheme, especially for the 'stained glass' windows. (Very glad I did not remove the portal frames!) I will not use stained glass, but instead bright blocks like end stone, birch, copper, prismarine, warped wood. I've already designed an eye of ender for one of the rose windows, but I haven't decided on designs for the other two rose windows yet. I'm thinking something to do with blaze for one, and something to do with shulkers for the other.
When I took a look at the end portal room a few months ago, I was quite impressed with it. Glad to hear you are continuing work on it. For stained glass, one trick I used heavily last season in my citadel build was glazed terracotta with glow lichen. The one drawback of using glazed terracotta is that designs tend to prefer even numbers, so can be tricky to work into odd numbered builds
We also have some sponges floating around somewhere I believe. That might the process somewhat easier.
Yeah, I did have them, but I was done with them so put them back earlier today
It has been quite some time since my last login. And the sage is still there! Blessed be this month of pride!
Update on the City of Pitch
Since last update I finalized a couple more interiors:
Brewery
I'm getting more comfortable decorating with each build. For this one, I wanted it to have brewing stands, but also resemble a winery or brewery for beer, so I added some big barrels. Then I made a cozy upstairs for the brewmasters.
Textiles
For this one I finally got to make use of the baby mobs. Can you spot it?. I've also been getting more comfortable with the debug stick and custom heads. The textile expert's living quarters make much more use of color.
Still outstanding
I have quite a few empty buildings left. Some of the interiors I have planned:
Previous update
Does anyone have a surplus of red sand? I have been commissioned to build a bridge in Poland, and am wanting to use red sandstone for it. @j0hn1215, I know you have been terraforming in a mesa biome, so potentially you have some you do not plan to use?
I don't have a ton of red sand on hand, actually. However, I do have plans to remove much of the red sand to the south of my current builds. If you want to dig it, you're welcome to it! I'll try to get on later today and scope some strip-mine-able red beaches!
I will be willing to do some digging for you. Not sure how much I will be able to play over the next couple of days so no rush on immediately marking it out
Update on The Horizon Engine
Another week, another new building. I borrowed @Mendanbar's idea of using a working conveyor belt in my incinerator building.
I also added two "atmospheric condensers" as a way for the city to collect water.
Then I decided to make a second market stall to fill out a little more space.
My in game map is starting to look a bit like a circuit board which is a neat coincidence.
I also finally decided on a way for non-flyers to access the city from the overworld. The city is dumping excess water* out of the sewer down to the ground below. There's a bubble column to ride up into the sewer system and then a ladder to the city streets. Maybe I'll think of something more glamorous in the future, but for now this will have to do. No picture, it's a column of water coming out of a tube. *filtered and sanitized water, we are environmentally conscious at The Horizon Engine.
Next up is a medical facility for the city.
Edit: Just took this night shot of my city from a distance. It's coming together.
Hey @TaylorSwiftsPickles! Where you at? I need my favorite afk'er to keep the bee farm active for me! :D
@j0hn1215 You're a very very close second! :D
If you need beeswax, I currently have close to a shulker with me out at Poland that I need no where near that much
It's all good, I ended up just throwing down a couple enderpearls to chunk load the bee farm while I did other things. By the time I gathered everything else there was enough for my needs. Thanks though, I'll keep that in mind if I need more in the future.
