What two games should bang?
After watching NakeyJakey (YouTube hot boii) do a series on games he thinks should bang (two games that should combine their best elements to create an entirely new game). I was wondering what two games do you think should bang.
My two are Dark Souls and World of Warcraft
I'd kill for a game with the scale, community, and lore of World of Warcraft combined with the combat and difficulty of Dark Souls. - but not something like Monster Hunter
Imagine Dark Souls type combat with full raiding parties filled with clerics, casters, rangers, tanks, barbarians, etc... fighting against a legion of the undead. Or doing dungeons, etc...
That's just my dream
What two games do you think should bang?
Bonus points for literal interpretation of the question.
Pokemon + Breath of the Wild
That would be brilliant. Would you go for pokemon gyms or temples?
I always thought that the Harry Potter series deserved better games. Unfortunately, they were going to sell just because they had the Harry Potter name, so they didn't do a whole lot with them. I think some sort of open world Elder Scrolls/Breath of the Wild type game for Harry Potter would have been amazing.
GoT in a Elder Scrolls size/detailed environment would be brilliant if done well. If done really well you could have loads of different characters at the start and play it kinda like an RTS but a RPG one with the main characters and you could deviate from the story line.
Dark Souls + WoW
I used to be among the top 5 US guilds in WoW. Loved raiding at the time, I feel like this combination would absolutely destroy my social life.
I'd love a game with the amount of choices (and meaningful consequences) Mass Effect offers, with the huge go-anywhere-do-anything open world of the Elder Scrolls. You know what? Throw in some Assassin's Creed climbing/parkour mechanics since both of the other games suck in that department.
Ooh nice. I haven't played either game but they both look like concepts I would love. I've heard both have a tendency to devolve into spreadsheet simulators though, where you end up fine-tuning minute details more than exploring or having epic space battles. So for that reason I've kept my distance.
The only AC game I've played is Black Flag and I don't see why everyone likes the parkour so much. I prefer the mechanics of Dishonoured and Dying Light. Is Black Flag different to the others, or am I likely biased due to playing the other games first?
TES Oblivion + Mount and Blade + pirate theme.
So a progressive sandbox multiplayer RPG ... with pirates?
Pirates make everything better.
Except Sea of Thieves. Pirates could not save that game
Definitely try out Sea of Thieves. It's absolutely fantastic.
I played Oblivion up until I got a horse for the first time, and found out you had to get off the thing to fight. Then I remembered I had an early demo version of something called Mount and Blade, and thought, "at the same time?".
Never did get back to Oblivion after that.
Megaman X and Devil May Cry. Spectacle action version of Megaman X, only thing to resolve is he'd probably need Zero's blade for melee.
Have you tried Zone of the Enders?
I have not, what's it like?
Dark Souls and System Shock. Oooh, that's giving me goosebumps just thinking about it. Imagine From Software doing sci-fi horror.
It's worth noting that imo Dark Souls and any game banging will likely result in a better offsping.
"Dark Souls and any game banging will likely result in a better offsping."
Yes. Yes. Yes.
Herzog Zwei and Phantasy Star II
mostly because they are my 2 favorite sega games, and i want them to make cute babies
I always wanted Splinter Cell + Sword&Sorcery RPG, but then someone pointed out to me that that's Shadows of Mordor and I played that game and loved it.
I'd love to see Diablo x WoW, or to be specific; an MMO in Diablo universe.
Diablo 4 may be an MMO so who knows!
You should check out Alpha Protocol if you want something that's Splinter Cell + RPG.
I should have originally been more specific - Splinter Cell + Sword & Sorcery RPG.
But I'll check out Alpha Protocol too! I think I might actually own it already.
I'm now trying to imagine the result of Splinter Cell + Sword and Sworcery, which is rather a different thing.
The final level of the game Death Road to Canada mixed with TESO mixed with Everquest.
just cause and battlefield
Metal Gear Solid franchise and Grand Theft Auto franchise. Bear with me.
Imagine the stealth game play and Kojima's acid trip storylines mingling with the sandbox anything goes world of Grand Theft Auto.
While V may have given us a taste, the entire time V was being developed Kojima was on Twitter saying 'GTA V keeps making me sad' because of how damned good it was, especially after they remastered/re-released it for next-gen consoles.
Imagine.... Imagine Metal Gear, the ORIGINAL Metal Gear, remade with a blending of stealth mechanics and the any time anything anywhere of GTA. Throw in the multi polar narratives of Solid Snake, Gray Fox, and Venom Snake as they handle the crisis. Do you stealth your way through the game? Drop off a tank or chopper?
Let's build on the original, there's side quests to help the natives, factions to aid or fight against, weapon and armor customization, easter eggs of future characters or their relatives to keep world building.
First game too small? Fair, it's an NES game so it's hard to establish scale (look at Hyrule in LOZ compared to BoTW), so let's go with... MGS 4. Remember the ONE time you get to go to a city? Let's unlock the whole damned city. In fact, the little villages in the middle east are now properly scaled to boot. Imaging trying to get through San Andreas with GEKOs running around. And you can switch BETWEEN Raiden and Old Snake at will. Hell, throw in SOME Liquid Ocelot chapters too.
If this game was ever made, I doubt I'd ever buy another one.
XCOM and the Anno series. You play as a middle manager for a Weyland-Yutani type corporation, charged with establishing a profitable off-world colony. The only problem is, the planet has hostile native life forms that your corporate security forces need to deal with.
