Apple Arcade recommendations?
I upgraded to Apple One because it was only $3 more a month for TV and Arcade split between my family plan members. So why not?
Looking for recommendations of what's fun to play in the Arcade. I'll take anything, but if you're looking for what I like the last games I really enjoyed playing were: Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Disco Elysium, Persona 5 Royal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. As you can tell, I really don't play mobile games much.
Thank in advance.

What I've heard good things about is What the Golf, Cardpocalypse, and Sanyora Wild Hearts, and maybe Beyond a Steel Sky, Jenny Leclue, and Exit the Gungeon if those strike your fancy or your familiar with similar games.
Cardpocolypse sounds very goofy and like it might be fun. Especially as someone that was 10 during the 90s and played Magic: The Gathering. I don't know if I'd enjoy Exit the Gungeon on a gameplay level, but I love the pixel art. Thanks!
Sayonara Wild Hearts was one of my favorite games from the last few years (I played it on PC though).
Other games that are currently exclusive to Apple Arcade that make me wish I had a device I could play them on:
There are also quite a few other non-exclusive games that are good, the overall average game quality on there is really high. I'm particularly looking forward to The Pathless, which is from the creators of ABZÛ and comes out in two weeks.
+1 for Sayonara Wild Hearts.
Thanks to @joplin, I see that Arcade works in MacOS too. So, I should be able to play stuff on PC and not just mobile, which honestly makes me way more excited for Arcade than I was.
I remember hearing a bit about Sayonara Wild Hearts now that you mention it. Seems like a good time to try it out! I have not played many strategy games lately (outside of Civ), but Mini Motorways looks like it might be fun for short bursts on my phone. Thanks.
I really enjoyed Stranded Sails. It was not at all a game I thought I would like, but it turned out to be really fun.
I tend towards adventure games. I enjoyed Discolored, which is not too difficult, but was fun.
Little Orpheus was really pretty, though there were a few control glitches I hit. They've updated it recently, so maybe that's fixed?
Also really beautiful to play was Beyond Blue.
Legend of the Skyfish 2 is a Zelda-like game that was lots of fun.
If you're looking for something off the beaten path, Next Stop Nowhere is kind of interesting. I had some issues with it when it first came out, but it looks like they've addressed those in subsequent updates.
Oceanhorn 2 is similar to the types of things I'd expect on a modern Nintendo system. Action/Adventure.
I haven't played too many tower defense games, but really enjoyed Don't Bug Me.
I play on a variety of devices - my Mac, iPhone and AppleTV. I use a controller on the TV and it's well-supported. My AppleTV is an older one, and it struggled a little with Beyond a Steel Sky.
Oh, I almost forgot - another "off the beaten path" game I loved was Creaks.
A lot of games I am very interested in here. Stranded Sails looks very fun. Next Stop Nowhere also might be up my ally. I may look at some of these Zelda clones too, since I did not enjoy Breath of the Wild.
Also, thank you for your post that made me realize that Arcade works with MacOS. I just assumed it was a phone/tv thing. I have a feeling I'll like playing stuff on my PC more than my phone!
I just got Apple Arcade yesterday because this post reminded me to contact the support (I bought a new iPad last week and I just missed the 3 month free promotion). The support gave me 4 months for free so I’m very happy about that.
So far I have played:
what the Golf - really enjoy that it’s a lot of Short levels making it easy to pick up and out down
Card of darkness - it’s a fun card game, I’ll definitely play more of it for sure. I like the planning and strategy of it, but I think sometimes a Level might be unbeatable (just enemies at the start)
Outlanders - i just played the tutorial but the art style is right up my alley. I find it beautiful and I bet it’s going to be tons of fun. Its a small city builder I think... btw: anyone know the engine of the game?
That’s all I have tried so far. Outside of Apple Arcade I just bought the civ 6 expansions yesterday, they were half price for me... and I’ll probably get slay the spire later
I would definitely recommend Mini Motorway. It's the only game I've gotten to from everyone's recommendations because when I had time to play, held my interest the entire time! Hoping to get to more stuff in here soon though.
Polytopia. It's a turn based strategy multiplayer game. really fun, very active community on discord, and reddit.
