Tildes Video Thread

So, quite a few people don't like/watch video content, and don't like seeing the homepage filled with videos. Let's try something new, see if it sticks.

What are the best videos you have watched this past week/fortnight?

This is from our very own @PetitPrince, and even though it already got its own post, I’m throwing it in this thread too since that didn’t get too much attention.

Got two recommendations from recent watches:

    • Veritasium - How Quantum Computers Break The Internet... Starting Now: This video goes in depth about how it is that quantum computers break current encryption. I found it extremely interesting as for a very long time I've read that quantum computers are good at breaking encryption but had no idea how or why.
    • PBS Spacetime - What’s Your Brain’s Role in Creating Space & Time?: While Spacetime is a channel dedicated to physics, this video takes a different approach diving into the neuroscience of how humans perceive space and time. It's an interesting way to de-construct reality and think, do we perceive reality accurately or is our brain just showing us a representation of what's out there?

PBS Spacetime is really great. I love the channel more and more; they've gotten me addicted to astrophysics.

The Hollywood Recorder’s Roundtable which spoofs the awards season interviews that I sometimes post on ~movies. It’s an hour long just like the real videos which is an insane commitment to the bit.

Why I haven't played Hades, a lengthy presentation of Greek representation (or lack thereof) through the eye of an ethnically Greek montrealer. Also, a surprisingly amount of Quebec politics, and a tease toward a second video that would dig even deeper into it. I wasn't expecting to learn so much about both topic at the same time !
