I welcome our Nintendo cinematic overlords. Fingers crossed for a Metroid movie.

Anyone seen this and can comment on whether it's worth watching as an adult?

It was pandering to my demographic (40's, Mario fan, gamer) and it worked to reference every Mario IP of any significance, but I found it considerably more well written than many movies made to tug on the nostalgia-strings. Unlike Hocus Pocus 2, where the connections between references were tenuous and narratively jarring, Super Mario Bros did a good job of being an enjoyable (if not at any point surprising) story.

Shoehorning in "Take on Me" was almost a jumping-the-shark moment of pandering. But I agree it's enjoyable.

It’s fine. The plot is extremely basic and predicatable. It’s definitely a little kids movie but it has enough jokes to keep most adults amused.

Unless you’re super into nerd culture and/or a huge Mario fan, no.
